hi i am new here
by dawntodaylight ini had started studying with jw because i was curious about the religion because my bf then(now husband) was a witness.
i am a very open minded person and really had i known what i know now i prob would not have been baptized.
i always had my doubts but i really enjoyed the positive aspects that i was learning at the meetings...i studied with my mom in law.i prob shouldn't have done that because she has taken it very personal that we have stopped and even had the nerve to say i started studying to get in good with the fam!!

Where was the last assembly you attended?
by Little Imp inwe last went to one in 2006 - it was the channel islands.
can't remember whether it was jersey or guernsey as they alternate, have been to both as we went to the channel islands in 2005 too.

toad in the hole
Ingredients: Serves 4
120g flour (sifted)
240g sausages
2 eggs
300mls milk
Pinch of salt
Large knob of butterCooking Instructions:
1. To make the batter, put the sifted flour, eggs, milk and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl and beat well until bubbles appear in the mixture. It is generally accepted that the results will be better if you can leave the batter mix to stand for about two hours. If you haven't got the time don't worry, it shouldn't make a huge difference.
2. Take the sausages, brown them for about ten minutes at a high temperature in a heavy based frying pan.
3. Heat the butter in an ovenproof dish or baking tin (as with all batters make sure the fat is hot before putting the batter into the dish or tin ), pour the batter mixture into the dish.
4. Then drop the sausages in the batter.
5. Cook on gas 220°C for 40 minutes.

Who is AGBM?
by african GB Member inthe purpose of this thread is to tell everyone on this board who i am and why i am so different.. first of all, i have already apologised on another thread for posting zero drivel topics here.. i am a 29 year old male, born-in, baptised in 1998, df'd in 2003 for fornication, reinstated in 2008. i want to make it clear that i have never been a ms. after my reinstatement i continued to attend meetings with the same cong.
but moved to another cong.
earlier this year, reason being, the continued shunning by some hardcore self-righteous publishers.. i am still with the same cong until now, i go to meetings regularly, including taking part as well as giving bible reading talks.

can i call you abe?, cos AGBM just hasnt got any ring to it and typing the whole lot out in full is a right gobful.
unless theres something else a bit shorter you'd prefer? maybe a new nick would kinda seperate the old from the new?
eiban, ya i know, but hey lifes too short, he'll prolly get his leg pulled here n there anyways that goes with the territory, we could have another 55 pages ANALysing and BANALising, or just say sod it and let it go, (this time)
abe or whatever youd like to be called, just maybe when you joined you were in a humerous mood and got caught in a kinda web of your own making, who knows the real you might even like it here and get more benefit than the old one did.

Today's my birthday and I anti-witnessed to my co-workers! Can I count my time?
by QuestioningEverything inmy co-workers brought me flowers and a cake.
i was also able to anti-witness to them about the jw's.
it feels good sharing with others the real reasons why i never celebrated my b-day.

Avoiding the Meeting
by brotherdan inso, darth plaugeis (or however you spell it) has suggested that the best way to get out of going to the meeting is to tell your wife that it's time to get ready for the meeting, and when her back is turned hit her over the head with a large object.. i'm sure there are better ways to get out of going.
i'm looking for some real ideas here.
" i like the whole getting your wife (or husband) drunk before the meeting so they won't want to go idea.

maybe you need to do the unexpected and go extreme uber dub for a bit, as spiritual head it would be your duty to impose extra family study, leave early for those dreaded meetings, up the field service hours, no R rated movies and hanging with non dubs, your wife wants you to be a dub after all. just maybe you should give her what she wants and some.
(would be hard but it definately wouldnt be predictable) and you might find if you make her follow the rules to the letter she'll be wishing you were the stay at home and miss the meetings kinda guy after all.
