  i still dont believe in the trinity doctrine completely.

  lately though i have been reading other translations and listening to ex-jw testimonials online.

  granted most of these testimonials are from ex-jw, born again christians.

  Does anyone hate when ignorant posters bash "the watchtowers teachings" but don't acknowlege that they predate the wts by thousands of years in some cases.

  Don't you hate it when posters respond to questions presented in threads without actually answering the questions? Arrogance is such an interesting quality? I wonder if animals think so much of themselves individually as many humans do.

  XQs.... if you want to write an editorial, send it into a newspaper or start your own thread.

  But thanks for responding anyway.

  I still dont believe in the trinity doctrine completely. Lately though I have been reading other translations and listening to Ex-JW testimonials online. Granted most of these testimonials are from Ex-JW, Born Again Christians. Anyway I am starting to really think that Jesus Christ could be almighty god. I mean the NWT was so blatantly mis-translated to remove any incling of the diety of christ. I think there is something to it.

  Even some of the stuff they left in the NWT indicates that Jesus is more than they say he is. Examples from NWT:

  (John 2:19-22) 19

  In answer Jesus said to them: "Break down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." 20 Therefore the Jews said: "This temple was built in forty-six years, and will you raise it up in three days?" 21 But he was talking about the temple of his body. 22 When, though, he was raised up from the dead, his disciples called to mind that he used to say this; and they believed the Scripture and the saying that Jesus said.

  Why didnt Jesus just say, Jehovah will raise it up? Who ressurected Jesus?

  (John 20:26-29) 26

  Well, eight days later his disciples were again indoors, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and he stood in their midst and said: "May YOU have peace." 27 Next he said to Thomas: "Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop being unbelieving but become believing." 28 In answer Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!" 29 Jesus said to him: "Because you have seen me have you believed? Happy are those who do not see and yet believe."

  Doesnt the bible speak of only one god? Why does the WT call Jesus a god?

  w92 1/15 p. 23 What Do the Scriptures Say About "the Divinity of Christ"? ***

  Addressing the resurrected Jesus, the apostle Thomas exclaimed: "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28) This and other accounts were "written down that [we] may believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God." And Thomas was not contradicting Jesus, who had sent His disciples the message: "I am ascending to . . . my God and your God." (John 20:17, 30, 31) So Thomas did not think that Jesus was Almighty God. Thomas may have addressed Jesus as "my God" in the sense of Christ?s being "a god," though not "the only true God." (John 1:1; 17:1-3) Or by saying "my God," Thomas may have been acknowledging Jesus as God?s Spokesman and Representative, even as others addressed an angelic messenger as though he were Jehovah.

  What a ridiculous explanation? If even angels in the bible did not want worship and said so why didnt Jesus correct Thomas instead of commending him?

  There are more but I dont want to bore you. What do you think? I am struggling with this everytime I go to the meetings and hear the speakers talk about Jesus.

  Do you believe in God?

  after reading the wt for last week's lesson on god's creative works i couldnt help but think that there really is a god, there has to be.

  i dont want to start a creation vs. evolution debate but you have to agree that its an extremely remote chance that the whole universe, the planets, stars, the sun, the earth, the animals, humans came about by accident.

  i mean, what the chances really.

  After reading the WT for last week's lesson on God's creative works I couldnt help but think that there really is a god, there has to be. I dont want to start a creation vs. evolution debate but you have to agree that its an extremely remote chance that the whole universe, the planets, stars, the sun, the earth, the animals, humans came about by accident. I mean, what the chances really. This is what I struggle with contemplating leaving the WT... what else do I believe in? Why are we here? Where do we go after death? Do we still need to worship god? If so how do we do it?

  Anyone else struggle with this upon leaving? Anyone still struggle with those questions?

  The wolf illustration was used at the DC this year also. I thought it was cold hearted and cruel. Some sister chimed in after the brother gave the illustration "wow... that was a good one"

  This is what brain-washing does... the WT takes a persons emotions and corrupts them. Personally I think they were referring to apostates as the "wolf pack" it was a caution not to listen to the truth about the "truth".

  3 or 4 years ago possibly.... now, no way! Just read the June 15th WT about blood. According to a chart that is in one of the articles its up to your conscience to take fractions of ever major component of blood. Why cant we just take the blood????? Its ridiculous.. anyway if the bible says to abstain from blood how can we be doing that if we take fractions of blood products. The logic truly escapes me.

  Nassau Colisseum contract with Society under threat

  just heard from a friend who attends a cong.

  in long island - the elder said that the dubs should not buy food outside the colisseum (there is a mcdonalds nearby) as the contract the society has with nassau would be under threat.. this seems to be a new phenomenon - are the vendors putting extreme pressure on them to let them sell food?.

  the gap between the morning and afternoon sessions is called an intermission.

  What the heck do they expect? They think EVERYBODY wants to go to the trouble of making their own lunch and jamming it into a cooler filled with ice, and carry it (and their bibles, songbooks, etc.) while walking half a mile from their parking space in their clean dress clothes while trying to keep their kids in check?

  Gopher this is really a realistic statement. You have no idea what a pain it is, waking up earlier. The funny thing is, back in I think it was 1995 or so when they discontinued food service one of the main reasons was so that people could spend more time associating together. In reality, we know it was because people were taking 3,4, 5 sandwiches a per person and not donating. Question: We cant associate at a local McD's or Burger King?? What a silly rule.

  anyway its very odd because they list which ones christians should avoid from left to right, i.e.

  red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, etc.

  Hello all.

  In the 7/15 WT I dont recall the exact page, I dont have the magazine here at work but there is a chart that lists blood, what components are up to you and which ones are not allowed at all. Anyway its very odd because they list Which ones Christians should avoid from left to right, i.e. red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, etc. all the "major" components so they say.

  The strange part is that right below it again from left to right under the heading Christians make their own decision based on their conscience it lists fractions of red blood cells, fractions of white blood cells, fractions of plasma, etc. down the list. Isnt this contradictory? You cant take in the whole component but you can have bits and peices of it. How can people look at this and not see the contradiction?

  Anyone else see the article and care to add something I left out? Its just very blatantly... ILLOGICAL

  most jws seem to be "devout" in that they go to 5 meetings and out in field service.

  yet, many also lived double lives.

  well as you would have guessed from my name, i am a proud witness and i feel obliged to preach to you about the promises that our wonderful creator, jehovah god, has promised each and every one of us, of any race or background.

  i know that you already know what he has told us through his word, but i am curious to wonder why you have chosen to jump off the narrow road which leads to everlasting life.

  is it because you have had a bad experience in god's organization?

  Proud Witness. Why dont you let the elders in your congregation know of your triumphant denunciation of the apostates here on the internet. Then come back and start a new thread telling us the reaction they gave you upon learning that you have had active "association" and exchanges with several of them here. I am sure they will lovingly commend you for your efforts and tell you to continue on in this "fruitful" territory you have to witness in. You will surely experience the true, brotherly love they have to offer.
