especially the ones that the elders know they can't crap on.
heh... elders and ex-elders really understand what you mean by this statement.
my mom told me that the new elder that just got appointed 6 months ago was now deleted.
this young man is in his early 30's, unmarried, and now history.
what could've happened??

When you're no longer one of the boys, you might as well be vaporized
But do they leave you the f**k alone after you are deleted though?
we were building a new kh- not quick build- and we had to vacate the old building and the new kh was not finished.
the elders decided to cancel all the meeting with the exception of the tuesday night bookstudy in homes.
we had no other meetings for about 4-5 weeks.
Winter is just around the corner so I am hoping we get loads of snow on Sat and Sun.... no service or public talk and WT study since this is the only reason its cancelled...EVER.
can an anointed christian who is disfellowshiped later be reinstated and still have the heavenly hope?
he wrote to christians who had been anointed by holy spirit and given the hope of heavenly life.
10:26, 27) such unforgivable sin is evidently what john referred to as "sin that does incur death.
Very interesting... I never ever came across that article before. So whats with all the young "replacement" annointed cropping up lately?? I guess many are sinning against Jahs spirit then?

i know that all religions have their flaws, so do you agree that witnesses should call themselves christians or are they 'too un-christian'?.
the baptism, i think proves its different, they are baptized into an organization, that forms part of the questions...agreeing that the society is god's earthly representation.. personally i feel they are not christians.
Some of the comments on this thread seem to be defining "Christian" by standards of behaviour: kindness, charity and so on. Which is either hugely derogatory to non-Christians, or meaningless - couldn't we just as easily say that a kind vegetarian JW is a Buddhist? Clearly not.
I was defining it by the behaviour and actions of the founder of the christian faith Jesus Christ as outlined in the Bible. In comparison to how the JW's view things today its clear that they are not really following Jesus. Most are judgemental, think they need to earn their salvation, are prideful, position oriented, etc, etc. Jesus denounced such things as was shown when he repeatedy corerected his apostles for arguing who was greatest among them.
I am in no way saying that kindness and love is defined by christianity just that for one to claim to be a christian these are the most important traits to display. I know many catholics, hindu's, jews, muslims, and JWs for that matter that are wonderful and kind people. In general though the JW religion seems lost as far as christianity goes...

poppers I agree with you. Witnesses are too works based to be christian. The scriptures repeatedly state that salvation is a free gift so why would a free gift of grace and salvation have to be worked for??? The law of christ is love for god and neighbor not how much time a person spends knocking on doors or sitting and listening to boring meetings.

They claim to be however many don't follow what Jesus outline in the scriptures for them. To most JWs field service time, going to the meetings, commenting, pioneering, being an elder, MS are more important than showing a humble, loving attitude which is what Jesus stressed more than anything else. In other words JWs seem to be more pharisaical than christian to me.
recently ive been doing a lot of research on judicial committees, as my friend is currently going through one, as mentioned here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/118972/1.ashx
i just posted an update.
one thing ive noticed in my research, is that there is no scriptural support to back up the judicial committee system.
If he gets a group of elders that are moderate and liberal then he'll be fine. All he has to do to keep from being DF is confess, state the facts and say that he feels remorse and hopes that Jah will forgive him. Depending on the reaction to that he may even add that he finds it difficult to approach Jah in prayer because he feels so guilty. He also needs to sound genuine when he does this and not rehearsed. Also he should avoid trying to justify or explain how the sin happened, showing regret is sufficient enough. Unless of course how it happened could be a learning experience and they like it when the person realizes what led them into "sin" i.e. I was drunk and went home with a skank from the bar... I wasnt thinking clearly and I have a problem with alcohol too. Please help me! They eat that up..
If he wronged another person make sure he attempts to apologize to that person as well since not doing so is not repentant to the elders. Basically he needs to be really sorry, show it, display it, crying may help or hurt depending on the circumstances. Most elders, even hardliners will not DF someone for doing what I outlined. Liberal elders you can even skate by with less theatrics.
sure we got to know a lot of people, we knew a lot more people then the average person, but how many real friends did we ever have?
a friend that we could trust, that we could confine in.
i can say i had just one, bro x and even then i still had to be careful, bro x is an elder now and he tells me that im the only real friend hes ever had, he cant freely talk to anyone.
I think finding a "real" friend while in the JW's is an expception rather than a rule I am sorry to say. These people love conditionally... meaning if you want to remain friends you need to be loyal to the WT above all else. If you even start to question things most...MOST JW's will shun you or be evasive and flighty with you or worse yet, turn "states evidence" against you and turn you in.
Yes and still do.
Ambition, pride, lack of love, lying or holding back information. The elder arrangement is such a sham
