maybe this was more in the northeast area of the U.S. when I was there but:
"lets see further what we can gleen from these verses.."
so we all know the jw vocabulary is a weird one.
what words or phrases bugged you the most?.
a few of mine:.

i know a brother who went to the most recent annual meeting.
older brother, non-annointed, elder, wife a pioneer, and overall a pretty good dude.
he let me take a peak at the new awake dropping in 2013, which by the way i have to give credit where it's due as i like the new 16 page format.
I agree. It is actually more of a big deal for xjws who are nit picking on every shitty word being excreted from the FDS asses. Not saying that I do not enjoy the nit picking because I do, but that is the truth. Most witnesses today barely study the crap from the FDS, barely read their bibles anymore, and go through the motions in their worship.
must read on jehovahs witnesses watchtower arrogance in failure to warn of congregation pedophiles.. http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/we-will-decide-who-is-a-predator-new-watchtower-instructions-to-elders-on-child-abuse?fb_action_ids=10151270345663993&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582.

You know it when the elders read this letter, they heaved a collective sign of relief because the WT took the decision-making out of their hands and they can sleep better at night knowing that the liability buck stops at WT headquarters and not with them.
While I will agree with the statment above and others on this thread, I think that one of the reasons that the WT is making this a policy to eliminate the possibility of any reporting to any authorities. Pretty much they are saying if any of you elders want to be preumptuous and report this to the police then you will be sanctioned because it is the branch that decides if someone is a molester/pedophile and not you. The legal and service departments at Bethel know that there are many "rogue elders" out there who could possibly ignore them and go directly to the police.
This is a direct threat to these elders that you will be dealt with if you do. Its part of their pyschological terror program and yes many elders will not go with their conscience and report abuse to police. Why go through that, why put your family through that. You could be deleted or worse disfellowshipped for brazen conduct.
So annoying isnt it. These people treat you different if you miss too many meetings or don't go out in service every week. God forbid you say something questionable about the org... you will be labeled a "bad attitude" like I obviously have been.
What can you say about the conditional friendships that being a Jehovah's Witness promotes? I am still active and there are many who sh*t on me and tossed me aside because of my attitude change. To me it just seems too easy for these people to turn on and off affection. It really makes me believe that its all forced.
The WT promotes agape love (based on principle) not the real affectionate, care and love (philia). So with agape I guess they understand that to mean if you dont continue to follow bible (FDS) principles then JWs are allowed to treat you different or cut you off. It is really hypocritical and disgusting that they claim that they show real concern for each other when in reality its a coerced, forced "love" based on their principles.
they will continue being faithful jws.
they will accept whatever is spoon fed to them.
they can be told they have the "truth" and in one day, realize everything they believed in wasn't true after all!.
Yes, it is worse if you take the lead and teach this shit to others when YOU don't believe it, yourself!!!
ouch min, that hit home. I am a douche I know. Sorry..
i need a break from the jw-xmas noo-lite stuff ....... .
today my crush was on tv and a quick blush came to my face as i remembered all the silliness i did to run into him when he was attending jr. college near my grandparents....sigh.... so who was yours?
did your parents highly discourage/disapprove such?.

in the the early 1970's, i used to enjoy going to assemblies, conventions and hear special talks given by bethel heavies.. in those days, we were believers and we applied ourselves as "ministers" with pride.. once the "end" was obviously not within our "generation", many of us started losing interest.. we started to think more critically.
it took a long time but once you start recognizing the bullsh*t, it's hard to stay in and truly believe at the same time.. .
Primarily that the organization has policies in place that potentially allows pedophiles free to rape again. Prior to that I started to feel that the entire elder arrangement was a sham and that the position as elder was gained basically by who liked you the best and who's ass you rimmed. Such bull-f*c*ing-shit!
so, we had our new co (who actually seemed nice and somewhat personable in his own way.).
he gave a talk titled something like "do we sacrifice to jehovah?
"(can't remember the exact title.
Typical. Our CO also goes around begging for $$ for the mighty WTS while he and his wife each tote around iPhones and iPads and drive a new car every 3 years, fully paid for. Gotta love the WTB&TS
jwfacts has an article that explains why the great crowd must be in heaven.
i am also aware that many of these are the same arguments that stemmed from the 'awakenings at bethel' so my statements are not simply attacks of jwfact's character (since these arguments are probably not original) but rather his copy and paste of what others have said instead of verifying it as 'fact' for himself.. so here are jwfacts arguments:.
1. he shows that russell and rutherford (at some point) believed that the great crowd were in heaven.. 2. each term that describes the great crowd of revelation 7 is else used to described the anointed by the wt.
Recovery I have a question: Do the elders in your congregation know that you read and post on this site? Mine do not because I do not think that I will benefit my family by exposing myself. Why don't you sit with your group overseer and go over some of your concerns.
Perhaps he can even instruct you on how you "..ought to give an answer" in defense of the truth here on JW.net
