A preist , Pastor , or minister of religion that uses the Bible or an i-pad , who in your eyes would command your respect .
by smiddy ini ask this because of an experience over the weekend when two witnesses came to my door , and he tried to use his i-pad to witness to me, which i wasnt intersted in.. my theory is this is going to backfire on them .
the majority of people in christendom , whether they practice it or not have a reverence , if not a deep respect for the written word , the bible , as a holy book.
a sacred book.. i dont beleive a householder who is a christian is going to be impressed by someone who quotes scriptures from an i-pad.. religous books have been considered sacred for centuries , their is an awe about them .

I think the up and coming generations will be accepting of media delivered in digital format more than current ones. Its just a matter of time. I am not defending the use of iPads or not however I used them at the meetings that I still attend and find it extremely convenient as do more and more people. Sure there will always be die hard paper users but technology forges ahead.

"Draw Close To Jehovah" study - strange logic..

The WTB&TS does use coercion to stay in the religion. They tell you that the world is bad, wordly associates are an evil, bad influence so you are stuck in their social structure. So if you do leave, more than likely you will be all alone. Perhaps even your family (wife, kids, or extended) won't even acknowledge your existence. So what do people do? People lilke me? We stay in, lead a double life, and be miserable.

by keyser soze ini remember when i was a kid going on vacation somewhere with my family, my parents would always have to find out where the local kingdom hall was.

Describe What a Jehovah's Witness Elder Is Like
by minimus ini know what they are supposed to be like.
but at this point in time, do you think the elders look joyful?
are they serious bible students?

I think it all depends upon the personalities of the men.
Aren't all JW's supposed to be clothed with the "new personality"? Love, joy, blah blah.. so you are saying that the elders are not? Only some of them, lol...

To become an elder, a "brother" is typically someone who managed to underline his magazine study article and comment at least twice during a two-hour meeting. He showed up at recruiting meetings and was known for at least trying to use the suggested presentations at the door. He may have bought a minivan, but at least bought a four-door sedan or SUV.
Once he became one of the elders, this man is typically too busy with "theocratic" stuff to help someone move or paint their apartment. He only studies so far as it takes to complete his meeting parts, but probably still underlines his magazine so he doesn't stumble others. He tries to look joyful, but really looks stressed because he has another meeting part and because someone in his group didn't turn in their time or because he has to go to the meeting after the meeting.
I think this is the most accurate comment.

fading is the only way to leave and maintain still in family realtionships. If you do that then all you have to put up with is the occasional mandatory talk by an elder/uncle at family get togethers about you coming back, you're causing your parents grief, blah blah blah. Then its all good and they will treat you pretty much normal.
