You are a better parent than I am..my kids still go the meetings. How awful I feel dragging them to be bored out of their minds for 1-2 hrs. Tell your sister that if she is going to make unkind, judgemental remarks to you then she is not welcome in your home....that or fu*k off, whatever feels right!

Ironic hypocrisy of Bethel "service"
by MinisterAmos ini normally let people make their own decisions with a very hands off approach, but after reading the "living together in bethel" (or whatever the name of the piece of crap book is) i need to vent a bit.. anyone here is very familiar with the "quit your job or at least cut way back" talks that we were subjected to seemingly every other week.
after all, good dubz need time to prepare, attend, pioneer etc.
a good friend of mine left her job at an insurance co. to pioneer.

50 hours over a 5 1/2 day workweek?
When I was there in the late 80's-early 90's it was 8-5 Mon-Fri with an hour for lunch and Saturday 8-12. That works out to 44 hrs a wk only.

Speaking from experience I can say that Bethel service wasnt all that terrible. Then again I had an easy job, nice overseer and close congregation. The food was not the best all the time but it was free so I couldnt complain. You also get out of mommy and daddy's house and get all kinds of attention from desperate, sometimes hot, pioneer sisters who want to serve at Bethel. Besides at the time I thought I was really serving God when I was there. I have noticed that bethelites either turn into Company men after leaving or apostates. I was on my way to becoming a company man myself until I saw through the fog of lies that the GB was spewing forth. Now I realize that bethel is just a sugar coated sweatshop operating under the guise of a religion.

she said at that moment she heard a voice inside say, "these are not your people, this is not your family, get up and leave now, and don't ever go back.
" so she took her two children at that very moment and left, and she never went back.

May 2002 while watching the Dateline expose' on the pedophiles and the elders that either covered it up or mistreated the victims. It took a few weeks of pensiveness but I eventually broke through the "fog of lies" about apostates and went to the internet and to this site. Though I am still technically a JW mentally and especially spiritually I am out.

Told one of my Return Visits that I wont be coming around anymore
by XBEHERE inwe were out with a group on saturday and circumstances came up that i had a chance, for a change, to do one of my rv's alone.
i knocked on the door and she came out asking if i was dropping off the new magazines.
since i had them i said yes and then proceeded to tell her that i can't drop them off anymore.

Thanks for all of your support.... This was just my way of rebelling I guess since I am still going to meetings and havent told my wife a thing yet. Plus I do like this woman, been calling on her for years and I just cant stomach giving out literature claiming to be bible truth when I know its not. Of course I will still count her as a placement when I hand in my "sales report" at the end of every month if only just to screw with their figures.....haha.

My heart was racing the whole time I was there....and no it wasnt premeditated in the sense that I singled her out but I have been wanting to do that for a while to my return visits, I guess I picked her because I liked her. I think I will go back and explain again why I did what I did, she deserves a better explanation.

I knocked on the door and she came out asking if I was dropping off the new magazines. Since I had them I said yes and then proceeded to tell her that I can't drop them off anymore. She of course asked why and I paused for a long time then finally blurted it out "I don't believe in them anymore".I have a good relationship with this older woman so I just explained that I didn't want to get into detail and had people waiting for me but I just couldnt give her something that teaches things I dont think are true. I then pleaded with her not to tell any other JWs that may come again that I had told her this since everyone knew she used to be my return visit. I
I just can't believe I did that, this person is now the only one I have told how I feel. I was so nervous walking back to the car I thought I was going to faint. I like this lady and I didn't want to bring her garbage anymore. What was I thinking, now even though I trust this woman she may tell some other JW if they go to her door...I mean its now a possibility since my "secret" is out. Anyway just wanted to share.

I really hate it now when they quote John 6:68 as it doesnt even have reference to the WTS but to Jesus Christ! Of course a christian wouldnt want to leave Jesus but leave a bunch of old men living in Brooklyn.......Whens the next bus?

The Trinity... is it a false teaching as the WTBTS claims?

To be honest I dont really know for sure if the trinity is true or false. One thing is certain though, there are verses in the bible that seem to support it and the WTS has tried to change it by substituting words or adding words in brackets. If you read their own Kingdom Interlinear...the original purple one you can see how they admit that the literal translation of some verses were not to their liking so they added or changed things.
They are guilty of distorting the translation of the Holy scriptures which according to the bible merits the death penalty regardless of the truthfullness of the trinity or not.
