there has been some talk recently on jwd about disfellowshipping, and some questions regarding what would get you df'ed.. not all the answers provided have been accurate, so i thought i would share some info that would help clarify everything for anyone who was interested.. here is the numbered list of 15 specific disfellowshipping offenses from the elders handbook..... manslaughtersexual misconduct, including adultery, fornication, and other forms of "porneia"apostasydrunkennesssteiling, thievery, frauddeliberate, mailicious lying; bearing false witnessreviling, slanderobscene speechfailure to abstain from bloodgreed - gambling, extortionadamant refusal to provide material for one's own familynonneautral activitiesfits of anger, violencemisuse of tobacco or addictive drugsloose conductlet me know if anyone requires any clarifiying information on any of this.

In my years of observation, one can be disfellowshipped for anything that three elders can agree he/she should be disfellowshipped for.

i read this site every few months to see if there might be anyone who might need some help and advice much the way i needed help.

Apparently these are not restricted to the degree that the Organization book or Kingdom Ministries are. I understand that at Wallkill, the study mags are on a rack in the lobby right along with the regular mags so that anyone who walks in the door can take one.

After tossing Colossians 2 around for a bit, you might want to flip over to Romans 14 for some clarification:

Rom 14:4 Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Rom 14:5 One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

Rom 14:6 He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

Rom 14:7 For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.

Rom 14:8 If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

After that, you might want to check out a blog I posted on myspace a while ago on JW's and Christmas, along with some back-and-forth in the comments with a JW who challenged me (sorry, don't know how to make the link clickable in Firefox):

Program jws have to locate each other in emergency

did anyone hear about the special program the jws had or have for locating each one of the faithful ones when the great tribulation occurs or something like that.

my jw mom who passed away in 2006 was going on and on about this but i didn't want to ask to much.

i would get an earful of preaching then.

From what I heard, the problem was that after Hurricane Katrina drove thousands from their homes in New Orleans, some JW's relocated and were never heard from again, apparently taking advantage of the situation to do a quick fade. Hence the drive to get cell phone numbers, contacts of relatives etc. so that nobody can easily escape Watchtower control in an emergency.
