that text reminds me of one of a handful of problems peculiar to the ex-jw community.
second only to the wild beast's internal divisions, is the divided makeup of the ex-jw populace.
you know the one thing that indicates jehovah's blessing upon the worldwide association of kingdom proclaimers, is not only the continued success of the preaching work, but along with it the unity and love amongst the brothers and sisters.
i think sfpw that jehovah's witnesses are a religion whereas this is a website.
having said that there is some unity on the site regarding how people feel about the teachings of jehovah's witnesses i think, do you?
i have never posted on this site with any intentions of changing anyone's views other than maybe my own.
are they simply trying to make their bible more readable, or do you think there is a more sinister motive?.
i think it was just something to do. basically it's the same. ass, donkey, giraffe does it matter.

i think it is a combination of my personality and upbringing along with being British and a raised a Witness.

Julia i tend to think that being a Witness made me less friendly.
My father was very strict with it. No christmas or birthdays, little gift giving as is normal. Then there was always the feeling that if you transgressed and were disfellowshipped you would be totally cut off probably slung out the house. When my brother was disfellowshipped my father had to talk to my mother to get her to speak to him. My brother was really depressed. (I think it would have been different if it was me. I don't think my father would have spoken to me or my mother he was more lenient with my younger brother)
If my father hadn't had been a witness i think i would have rebelled more probably left home sooner.

Designs the same is true of my son, he is a big hugger. He will often give me a big bear hug. It just wouldn't enter my head to hug someone

I didn't cry when my brother died although we were close. I don't hug or kiss my aged parents good bye when I see them. When I first left home and moved half-way round the world in my early twenties i shook hands with my father my mother may have kissed me good bye. I didn't kiss my wife at our wedding. I find it embarrassing. Stiff upper lip.

i don't see anything wrong with baptism of children. i think in corinthians the apostle paul talks of those going through the sea at the time of leaving egypt as being baptised into moses, and i think this would have included children.
peter talks of the ark as baptism i think and if i was there i would want my young children on the ark.
some i think don't want their children baptised due to fear of disfellowshipping and having problems due to that.( i could be wrong) i think the disfellowshipping and having young people before commitees, like some were when i was young, needs to be looked at more than baptising children.
if a young person is baptised and later doesn't believe i don't see what harm the baptism it self has done?

i would react the same as i would have when a Witness
i would have run out screaming
ours is on thursday which kinda sucks when a long weekend comes along..
i liked Thursday because i considered it the start of the weekend come home few drinks easy friday
