What is the biggest regret or source of resentment because of being a Jehovahs Witness?
by stuckinarut2 ini'm sure we could all write long paragraphs about this question, but in a few words, what is your biggest regret, or frustration in life due to being a witness?.
what missed opportunities did it cost you?

How the organization can survive and thrive in the 21st Century
by kneehighmiah inlet's face it.
after 2014 comes and goes uneventfully, reality will hit hard for many.
the organization will fall apart and apathy, inactivity and bitterness will rule.

Let's face it. After 2014 comes and goes uneventfully, reality will hit hard for many.
the elder i spoke to recently said it didn't matter if there was a twenty year difference. he was an intelligent man.

THE PROBLEM with reading the Bible literally is . . . you can't think too hard
by Terry ini want to begin with a quotation by stephen colbert: "we're not talking about truth, we're talking about something that seems like truth the truth we want to exist" - stephen colbert on the origin of the word "truthiness.".
moses brought 10 plagues upon egypt to change pharoah's mind about letting jehovah's people go.. the 5th plague is to destroy only the egyptian livestock:.
6 and the next day the lord did it: all the livestock of the egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the israelites died.. a few days later the 7th plague is described:.

Do you think the nepotism and favoritism will stop with the appointing of elders with the new arrangement?
by toto555 indo you think this is a fairer system and brothers who have never gotten a chance at being elder will finally get it since it's up to the co to decide?
how do you think that's going to work?
do you think the favoritism will go away or be marginalized?.

Do you think it's rude or disrespectful to be in the bathroom for any reason while the brother is praying?
by toto555 ini had a publisher tell me this recently that she felt that it showed disrespectful to the brother up there giving the prayer, like you're ignoring him or something.
what do you think?
and if so, any bible scripture or watchtower or awake backing this idea up specifically?.

We thought it might be Armageddon when...
by cultBgone inwere there ever specific occurrences which you or those around you thought might be the start of "armageddon"?.
i remember 9/11 being such a day as it happened right as the meeting for field service ended.
it was the week of the c.o.

the reason i felt we were at Armageddon, the great tribulation at the time of the gulf war was
the generation that saw the events of 1914 were getting old. we had this peace year which has already been mentioned and now we had a war. gulf war.
“In the time of the end the king of the south will engage with him in a pushing, and against him the king of the north will storm with chariots and horsemen and many ships; and he will enter into the lands and sweep through like a flood. (Daniel 11:40 NWT)
in the book Your Will Be Done On Earth (1958 WTB&TS) talking of the king of the north on page 297 it says,
Down to the "time of the end" at Armageddon there will be competitive coexistence between the "two kings". In some way the king of the south must act, whether preventively ot protectively.
further on, on page 303 of the same publication it tells us,
How far the king of the north will have got when he reaches his "time of the end" the future will tell. But he is predicted to gain control over the treasures of gold, silver and all the precious things of this commercialized, materialistic world, including oil.
I felt this could be it, might as well stop working and go home have a drink or two.
