Not sure. But I'll bet that she'll be willing to accept a cheesecake or two from Paula!

Do you think Oprah is going to accept Paula Deen's apology?
by booker-t ini was wondering if oprah will accept paula deen's apology.
the two women go way back and oprah has even stayed at paula's home for the weekend and paula has been a guest on oprah's tv show.
i wonder if oprah will cut all ties with paula or will she forgive and forget.

Satanus,
In the case of Leslie Nielsen, it's also "were." They were both great comedians.

"Slip of the tongue?" I think not. She also testified to requesting that black waiters play slaves for a plantation style wedding.

Next Of Kin - your JW family will REFUSE BLOOD if you need it...
by talesin insimon's thread about making a will reminded me of this issue, and the fact that many of you may not have given it much thought.. .
this is something that occurred to me many years ago - and i have a good friend listed as my next of kin (nok).
a few years ago, i had a situation where i was hemmorhaging, not capable of giving consent because i was heavily sedated, and the permission had to be signed.

If you want to be sure your wishes are honored, consult an attorney on these issues. A law student with no professional experience in estate planning is a poor source of advice on an issue that could dramatically affect your life.

$0.00
As a kid, my dad sometimes gave me money to put in the contribution box. I faked putting it in, and kept the money for myself. I was never interested in giving money to an organization that made my childhood a living hell.

Original question: My daughter is now eighteen does she automatically become my NOK now do you happen to know - my parents are dead?
<<<<Probably. In the United States, these are usually controlled by informed consent statutes. You can do a Google search for "medical informed consent" for your state's statute.-- Justitia Themis>>>>
Someone with any knowledge of this subject would simply recommend that you consult with a lawyer who specializes in estate planning. Making important legal decisions based upon Google searches is foolhardy at best. Lawyers who rely on Google searches for their authority will eventually be the subject of a malpractice action.
"Informed consent" is unrelated to the subject of which individuals have authority to make health care decisions on behalf of an incapacitated individual. "Informed consent" refers to the requirements in many states that doctors obtain your "informed consent" before performing a medical procedure upon you. Such consent is "informed" because the doctor is required to give you certain information about the procedure, including without limitation the risks, if any, of the procedure. Searching under this subject is extremely unlikely to provide adequate information to properly plan for your own incapacity.

I never vowed anything to "Jehovah." My parents imposed "Jehovah" on me, and he turned out to be worse than a hemorrhoid.

<<<< Look, here's the deal we all are survivors those of us who have escaped the mind control cult called Jehovah's Witnesses . There is no RIGHT or WRONG path that various people will take exiting the Witnesses. Some are more religious. Big deal, so what ? Some of us are more agnostic or atheist. Once again, who cares ? Big deal. Everyone has the right to involve themselves or pursue a free life in post JW life as they desire. Who are we to say what's right or wrong for everybody ? What works for one person may not work for other people. We left the " cookie cutter " syndrome once we exited the JW organization. I feel it's a good idea to be open minded about everybody else. That includes religious people and non-religious people. Just my 2 cents. We hang with who we feel comfortable with. Peace out, Mr. Flipper>>>>
Well said, Flipper!
