Pea-brained Palin tells kids the VP "is in charge of the US senate."
by 144001 inhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081022/ap_on_el_pr/palin_vice_president_s_job.
palin tells kids the vice president 'runs' senate1 hr 54 mins agowashington asked by a third-grader what a vice president does, republican candidate sarah palin responded that the vice president is the president's "team mate" but also "runs the senate" and "can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes.".
while aimed at a typical 8-year-old, palin's explanations oversimplify the constitution's definition of the duties of the vice president and don't match the office's traditional role in senate activities.. the vice president's main duty is to replace the president if the president dies, resigns, is removed from office or can no longer carry out his or her duties for other reasons.

I want to go to the Kingdom hall after . . .
by 144001 ineating three cans of rosarita refried beans, a dozen hard-boiled eggs, steamed cabbage and broccoli, and guzzling a few beers.
if you can't empty the kingdom hall with facts, maybe it's time to gas 'em out of there with a cacophony of farts!

Jehovahs Witnesses; the perfect cult for those who want to be miserable
by 144001 inno holidays, no birthdays, no school sports, no "worldy" associations, no extracurriclar school activities whatsoever, no higher education, no smurfs, no harry potter, no speaking to family members who have been df'd or da'd, and of course, total control over one's free time, are all characteristics of the miserable cult of the watchtower.. it seems like depriving witnesses of all joy in life is the objective of the watchtower cult.
i'm no psychologist, but i can't help but believe the "joy deprivation" inflicted upon witnesses by the exploitive watchtower cult is part and parcel to their control objective.
it's a way to measure just how much control they have over folks, to ensure they will drink the kool aid at the right time and upon command.. i was born into this cult, and left it in my early teens, after a rather ugly period of defiance.

The JWD kingdom hall
by 144001 inyou can leave the kingdom hall, but does the kingdom hall ever really leave you?.
lately on this forum, there have been numerous inquisitions performed by small groups of forum users attempting to determine the veracity, or specifically, the lack thereof, of certain posts made by various forum regulars.
in the kingdom halls, judicial committees are charged with the responsibility of determining whether jehovah's witnesses comply with the multitude of rules and regulations promulgated by the watchtower corporate cult.

Greece 101 US 95
by 144001 ini had to laugh about lebron's comment that the greeks "don't know what to do.
" generally speaking, these u.s. nba players are overpaid lazy egomaniacs that were outclassed by a bunch of guys few here in the states have ever heard of.
let's toast the greeks for serving these guys a nice slice of humble pie!

Governing Body Subhumans: Merry Christmas
by 144001 inhaving recently experienced the trauma of watching a loved one proudly refuse blood despite being told it was medically necessary and that refusing it would be extremely risky, i realized exactly where i stand in life.
in addition to my childhood being exploited and made miserable by the watchtower cult, that same cult now threatens to take loved ones from me via the blood policy.. .
so, on this day after christmas, i am raging mad, and i want to express my christmas wish for the governing body, the subhuman gristle responsible for this illogical and despicable blood policy.

JW Ladies: starved for love?
by 144001 inok, in another thread, a poster referred to incidents of "sisters" out in "field service" attempting to "hit" on the males they encountered at the doors.
i have personally had this experience, and also noticed that the last time i visited a kingdom hall, the females in the hall were very, very flirty (including those who were married).
it was as if i had entered a place inhabited soley by women who had been denied male companionship for years!

"Tear Down the Watchtower Day!"
by 144001 inafter surviving what has been a rather depressing week, an idea suddenly came to me.
after being born and raised in the loathsome cult that is the watchtower, i was deprived of many things, including without limitation all holidays and the accompanying joy that goes with them.
as an adult, i've been celebrating all the traditional "worldly" holidays, but although i enjoy and appreciate them, i've noticed that there's something missing.

Questions No JW has answered
by 144001 inmany times i have asked my jw relatives questions that they've been unable to answer with anything other than, "good question, i'll get back to you on that.
" for some reason, they never actually do get back to me on them.
so, now here's the opportunity for the jehovah's witnesses and their supporters on this forum to either answer some of these questions or concede that they have no answer.

Did the Watchtower Lie?
by 144001 ini posted this in a comment in another thread but it was off topic, so i thought i'd repost it on its own for all to see:.
take a look at this gem of an excerpt from an amicus brief filed by the watchtower with the us supreme court in the case of jimmy swaggart ministries v. board of equalization of california (493 u.s. 378 (1990))(emphasis added): every one of jehovah's witnesses is an active door-to-door minister, preaching the good news of god's kingdom to willing listeners and offering printed sermons in the form of religious tracts, pamphlets, magazines, books and bibles for a suggested nominal contribution.. .
this is patently false.
