Why do we care?
by fade_away inok this thread might get my ass kicked by some of you in here, but don't take it the wrong way...i'm just curious, why do we care so much about the wt calling us "mentally diseased"?
i mean haven't we said far worse things about the wt and gb in this forum?
(i include myself)...i know many of us got all bent out of shape because of those two words they used on us and some of us are trying to get the law on our side, but if we could file lawsuits against them, then i'm sure they can just as easily get their money back by accusing us of "hate speech" and having this website shut down.

Yes designs, that awful Revelation book just about sums it up. It truly was awful. I'm just glad we left before my kids had to study the rubbish. How can they be a charitable organization and publish shocking trash such as that.
To think I actually sat there and gave serious attention to it's content.

I've never been there personally but I eagerly await seeing it in the new system as that is where our direction will come from ;)

Did any of you need counselling or psychotherapy as a JW?
by TimothyT ini have just started my new course to be a qualified counsellor.
naturaly i am studying this because of my own background and now i want to help others who have had similar strains on their lives.. i know the pressure that the jw organisation puts on its members, so i was wondering, if you dont mind saying so of course, did any of you attend counselling sessions due to the pressures and problems that the jw life brought along?.
i can imagine that the majority of my old congregation (myself, my dad and my brother included) would need some form of counselling or medication in order to remain sane.

Yes, I too have seen a counsellor. Didn't go for years after I had left the borg and just struggled on doing what I felt responsible for. Psychotherapy does help one to see that they are/have been a victim of an extremely controling influence which affects the way we view ourselves and the world around us. There is no magic bullet and it's a long road to any sense of normality. When I look at the damage they did to me and my family I wish I could sue them.
Like discreetslave, I am looking to study psychology and help others as I feel it is all that is left for me to do.
I think many on the inside are a ticking time bomb.

This is because Jehovah is the God of the one true religion and always cares for his own. Now, the nasty, wicked people on the other hand (that's us) will be completely destroyed at the great battle of armageddon in which we will fully realise our own weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Who ever said that the future was bleak!

I can't actually bring myself to take the bible seriously or even read it. That used to trouble me but not so much now. I'm sure there is a creative force or inteligence but in what form I know not.
Just got my son a book on the Hubble Telescope photos. WOW!
What wonders!

JW's and music
by Pink Floyd ini really resent the fact that the wt looked down upon alot of music.
rap was considered violent.
heavy metal was satanic.

Ahhh, I remember when Nirvarna headed Reading Festival in around 1990 or so. Magic!
That's before I became knotted up with the Jobies. They put an end to all my fun-temporarily.
They even stopped me going fishing. They have no fun in them do they.

As if they haven't dug themselves in to a big enough hole they're still digging!
Someone lend them a JCB or a CAT.
They must be driven by their own arrogance.
