I thank the cult for all the books and magazines-it was a harsh winter last year and the furnace needed feeding!
I think my neighbours must have thought I'd elected a new Pope.

Does the Issue of Universal Sovereignty make sense to you as an explanation for evil?
by gubberningbody init used to for me, and now it doesn't.. i'm not sure how i was able to accept that argument now that i don't, but perhaps it was connected with my increasing compassion for people and their personal suffering as i've grown older.. now it seems like a sick excuse.
more like a bar-bet with satan and all of creation suffers.. i read paul's words and he has no rejoiner except to say in effect "sucks to be a vessel of wrath...glad i'm not one, but who are you to complain anyway, huh?
who's bigger, smarter and more powerful than you, you, you complaining vessel of wrath, you.

Seriously, God would not allow so much suffering just to prove his point.
Only a very childish and diranged mind would punish billions of people just to settle a dispute.
How can anyone reason differently?

Wow! This thread has even got OUTLAW expressing emotion.
It just goes to show that many of us had our childhood adversely influenced and memories of that crucial stage in our lives are still very much with us and probably always will be.
We've all suffered together and so we all relate to each other.

You mention the book study group in homes.
I wonder if they abolished it to give themselves greater control over what R&F members are taught.
It makes me wonder if they viewed the book study group as an ungovernable and informal area in which apostasy or independant thinking could creep in.
Having everything in the Hall definately gives them more control, right?

Yeah Terry, I agree with James Woods, if I lived in the US and especially Texas I'd definately get the biggest big ass truck I could.
You could always carry the scooter in the back in case you run out of petrol!
On a serious level though, when I travel through Europe and see all the Parisians and Italians zooming around on scooters with HOT babes clinging on to them I think WOW, I'd love to do that! So yes, I too have been thinking about buying a scooter. Just need a hot babe, or my wife of course.
We went for a drink near Southampton in the summer and there were hundreds of scooters in town. Apparently some guy had died who was a Mod (don't know if you have Mods in the States) and all his mates turned up to show respect.
How cool is that?
