Photosynthesis and the problem with the creation story

i just noticed in the bible that on day three, god created the plants and trees on the earth.... day four, god created the sun, moon and stars!

so that means that the vegetation that is by its very nature dependant upon light to grow and photosynthesise was created a day before the sun that it needs to live!???.

this gets even more strange when you factor in the jw exhuse that a day to god is like a thousand years.

i do not clearly understand mainstream christian ideology, but i think that wt is a variation thereof.. wt teaches that god made adam and eve perfect, but that another one of god's perfect creatures, tricked eve into disobedience, thereby condemning adam, eve, and all of their offspring into a life of misery as a result.

this is because satan out-thought god, and essentially cornered god into this "legal challenge" that god had never foreseen.. that, to me, is one stupid god..

I agree berrygerry. I do not believe in the gods, they are a primitive human construct that does nothing more than create conflict in the modern, sophisticated mind of evolved humans.

Nevertheless, let us presume for one moment that they do exist;

They must hate humans to the extreme!

Why would you go to the trouble of creating life only to want to destroy it?

Once they start destroying their own creation (life), they have already lost and the devil has won.

An omnipotent, all knowing god could not possibly create a world such as this with so much chaos, suffering and injustice because of one person eating an apple, or whatever the hell it was - pear? Mango?

Actually, I agree with you though it hurts me to say so. You see, I am also one of those who believed in the religion (or at least I thought I did).

I say that I thought I believed it because to me now it is so obviously a lie, the whole religion itself being naive and immature to the extreme so that I am ashamed to admit to myself and others that I ever believed such nonsense because it would seem to indicate a lack of intelligence or at best a lack of proper education.

Worse still, I actually felt the need to prove it wrong!! I can't believe that now.

We created the gods and it is we who will dispense with them.

You really can't take anything he says seriously. I have watched the whole thing on YouTube and I have to say that either Jackson is really thick or very proficient at pretending to be. I am inclined to think the former.

Whatever way they spin it, he is sat there, jumping through hoops and doing just about anything he can to avoid telling the truth

If anyone here has any doubt at all that the JW's are nothing more than just another man-made religion I suggest you watch it for yourself.

Personally, I am dumbfounded at Jackson's lack of sincerity. He's taken disingenuous to a whole new level and I honestly believe that we are witnessing the very beginning of their undoing.

Whatever the case, I really don't think the future is bright for the Jehovah's...

it has been boarded up and closed off because of various paranormal reports regarding the room.

poltergeist activity has been felt: objects flying across the room, doors that open and shut by themselves, and dark shadows appearing and disappearing without explanation.

Gave my first hour talk sunday before last

i started going door to door at age 5 and was giving no.

2 talks by age 7. during the 8 years i was an active adult jw i was never a ms or elder (although i was a regular pioneer once).

so, i never qualified to give an hour talk.

Irrespective of our own beliefs, it is nice to see that some people, upon leaving the WT cult, go on to do other more constructive things which place them in a unique position to educate others on the topic of the Jehovah's Witnesses whether it is from a religious or scientific perspective.

Much more productive than just becoming bitter and knotted up with anger.

Bravo.
