  But then they say:

  "...to run "not uncertainly" means that to every observer it should be very evident where the runner is heading. The Anchor Bible renders it "not on a zigzag course." Wt 8/1/92 p.17

  Yet this right to left "zigzag course" is the very direction that the Society has given itself permission to take!

  We have the right to again ask: "What confidence can one put in the sincerity or judgment of such persons?"

  is there any denial that at 1 kings 7:23, the value of pi is ascertained as 3.000?.

  and where does this leave the idea that the bible is inspired in every word, jot, and tittle by god?

  (1 Ki 7:23 NLT) Then Huram cast a large round tank, 15 feet across from rim to rim; it was called the Sea. It was 7 1/ 2 feet deep and about 45 feet in circumference.

  1. Does anyone know how this verse was written in the original Hebrew language?

  I noticed that the New Living Translation translates "ABOUT 45 feet".

  2. Does the original Hebrew say that the measurment was an "exact" or "aproximate" measurement? Or does it just leave it up to the reader to determine what is meant?

  3. Has anyone done any reseach on this matter from the original Hebrew manuscripts themselves?

  If they have, I'd like to see it written here.

  Chapter 5 is entitled "The Evidence from the Ancient Christian Tombs"

  This is just nonsense.

  To an American, this phrase IS a "put-down". It DOES imply that whoever made the original statement must be stupid in your eyes. It IS a way to "be-little" a person - i.e "you be little, so I be big". No one likes to be treated in this manner.

I have found a page that was made by someone who was never a Witness, but she has done a lot of study about the beliefs of your religion. She is neither DA'd or DF'd, so the elders should approve of you reading her web page:

  trying to understand

  i'm 18 and my boyfriend is 16 and an active jw.i'm a baptist and very stong in my belief and love of god.my boyfriend and i haven't been together that long but were very serious and plan on getting married (when the time is right).we both know that we have no intentions of raising our children jw but as baptist and he tells me that he wants to get out of jw but right now its very hard for him because he still lives with his parents and his mother and oldest sister are very active jw.and i understand all that its just that because i love him so much i want to understand about his life and the way he was raised and what he was raised to believe but hes made it very clear that he doesnt want to explain it or talk about it hes told me some stuff but very little.i'm just wondering about their beliefs and what the jw's have to say about us dating and just any information anyone can provide!!!
