i believe her watchtower summary is one of the best weekly items we look for.
plus she's one of the sharpest persons on the board.
I am sure that when she was a "faithful" sister, the elders were afraid to be near her. The depth of her knowledge is overwhelming to the typical elder.
I personally am very greatful to be able to learn from Blondie.

Would you buy a financial investment from someone who goes door to door? Why in the hell would you allow someone to sell you spirituality?
Excellent point. However, witnesses coming to your door are not selling spirituality. They are selling magazines.

Any time you can combine religion and alcohol you have a really good thing.

i have been inactive for more than ten years, but because of the wife i still go to church (i just can't call it "the hall" anymore, at least in my heart) on sundays from time to time.
and guess what, when i mentioned that i was going to go to college, i was asked why i would want to do that?
Education is a powerful tool. The greatest thing you can learn in a college education is how to learn.
The ability to take in knowledge and separate what is important from worthless information is an invaluable skill.
i posted a week or two ago that i would stop attending meetings and being an elder.
i decided to wait on this after we received the june 7th boe letter.
i was interested in getting more information from other friends & family at bethel.
Because this elder admitted there was some manipulation of reproductive ------ by dancer on several occasions, he might have to be DF and his wife has grounds for divorce.
I cannot believe admitting something like that to a bunch of old men. Each of these elders are going to tell their wives, each of these wives will tell their friends. Within a week the whole congregation will be consumed by the acts of this man.
It is unbelievable what guilt can do.
just a bit of background: i'm an irregular jw who makes one or two sunday meetings a month.
that's down from nearly every sunday meeting at the beginning of the year.
i've been on the fringes of the congregation since i moved here, 10 years ago, and know very few jws.. recently i went out to dinner with a man, not a jw, and an elder and his wife (know their names, that's about it) from my cong.
If asked you can say, "It was a business meeting", or "He was my relative." My guess is that the elder doesn't know for sure if you are married or single. I doubt you will ever hear from him.

Nothing will take place other than another lame tract. The last time I got excited about a tract was in the early 70s. That was the last and only time I ever got close to passing out my 50 tract allotment.
an elder in my congregation asked me again yesterday, for about the tenth time, whether i have filled out my new blood card yet - is this normal?
it is getting embarrassing as i just keep saying i have not got round to it yet.
i am getting the feeling that it is being used as a sort of loyalty test.
Tell him that it is PHI (Private Health Information). Asking you for that information is a HIPAA violation.
