Remember that you have the rest of your life. The sooner you get over this hump the better. These elders mean nothing - they deserve no explaination. Just figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life - I can assure you your life can be wonderful.

i learnt this game on another site, and its great fun.
you name a song title and the next person names another title that has one of the words from the first one, making a chain of associations.. so far instance,.

I am sure it is all about liability. If someone is hurt in a "congregation picnic" then the congregation is liable.
It is also about not wanting people to have fun. Guilt drives this organization, anything that reduces guilt (like fun) has to be forbidden.

please don't take this the wrong way if your battling weight problems, that's not what this thread is meant to talk about.
i am asking this question because jehovah's witnesses claim they have "the best way of life", "god's blessing", "the truth" and are trying to change the habits of healthy people by turning them in to their own makings.
i watched people who were great athletes turn all their muscle in to fat because we would get a elder or circuit overseer make remarks they were spending too much time "working out" and "bodily training is beneficial for little".
All will be rectified in the new order, so it does not matter what we weigh prior to the great tribualation. Perhaps the excess fat will be a blessing when we are in a concentration camp with no food.
so, maybe this is god's way of preparing us for the trouble just ahead.
does anyone know the current thought on what happened before the flood?
i remember being taught that it never rained before the flood but now they are telling me that was never taught.
i thought i remembered a quote somewhere saying something to the effect of "can you imagine how the outsiders must have felt feeling those first drops of rain?
Since I don't see any characters in watchtower publications with umbrellas I can only assume there was no rain.

here's a hypothesis that we can expect to see robustly tested over the next 2 (2016) to 5 years (2019):.
as jw.org traffic goes up, door-to-door work will go down.
it will be harder to maintain a focus on the motivation and effort required to go "out" into your local territory because the "shift" has started to occur.
I guess this is a good thing. The productivity will increase becasue the bretheren wil identify those truely interested and only focus on those in the preaching activity. Hmmm I dout it.
