Do You Think All JWs Believe Whatever Their Religion Teaches?
by minimus inthat same question applies to catholics, jews, islamists, baptists and so on.
.
just because you belong to a religion, does it mean you espouse every idea that they have ever presented?.

I doubt they really understand the "truths" outlined by the Watchtower. When I was learning TTATT, I spoke to a few people - not to convince them that they were wrong, but to help me understand. I was hoping that through these conversations I could understandy why the JWs had the truth.
I soon gave up. It was clear that they did not understand basic Watchtower concepts.

Will JW.ORG actually harm the WT Society Long Term ?
by flipper inmy son and i were discussing this yesterday over coffee.
since the wt society in previous years virtually demonized going on the internet at all for jw's - now wt leaders are doing a complete turn around or about face probably so as to " compete " or keep up with all the anti-jw websites that are out there to give the wt society point of view.. however- it very well may backfire on them as once people start doing google searches looking for jw.org it will bring up all the other websites dealing with any jw issues and in the privacy of their own homes out of curiosity i'm sure lots of jw's are going to want to check out some of these sites to see what all the " apostate " hoopla is all about.
i wonder how many jw's will do this and will it have an effect in opening more minds to other views ?

I wonder if they give specific instructions not to type in Jehovah's Witnesses or Watchtower in an Internet search engine.
The Watchtower was so stupid that they allowed Satan and his apostates to capture almost every derivation of the corporate and religious name as an apostate site; Thus, the internet is a mine field for the inquiring mind.
So, I agree that they are embarking on a very risky strategy.
Let's see what happens, I have known many JWs who could not spell their name. Perhaps stupidity is their saving grace.

1914 or 1934 ?
by Chris Tann ini have thoroughly researched the watchtower doctrine of 1914, and am convinced it is neither biblically or historically correct.
but every now and then i wonder how ironic it is that world war 1 did start in that year, also pestilence and famine perused.
maybe, just maybe the witnesses are correct.

It would have been nice if the Watchtower actually foretold something that actually took place. Where prior to 1914 did they foretell the events that actually took place? They identified a date, they actually identified many dates (but you never hear of those).
And isn't it a little embarrassing that they did not know there was not "0" year. That is a basic piece of information if you are going to do calculations.

Famous Witnesses
by startingover13 ini've been doing some research about famous witnesses.
some were raised and eventually left, while others came in as adults.
they range from sports players, musicians, and entertainers.

You are talking about Theresa Graves. She had her bio in the Awake and was a big deal in the black JW community.
I remember a brother stating that he saw her at a convention and that she was not nearly as pretty in real life.
Very sadly she died in a house fire.

Awake! and public Watchtower almost identical for appearance and content
by yadda yadda 2 ini was in a chinese take-out the other day and saw a couple of very recent awake and watchtower magazines on the counter, amongst other magazines.. i had a good flick through both of them and noticed how very similar both magazines now appear in terms of appearance and content.
i was left with the distinct impression that the public edition watchtower is now basically indiscernable from the awake!
regarding content.

The whole purpose of the Awake was to use excess printing capacity. Now that printing capacity is no longer a consideration in the eReader world, the justification to have two separate magazines no longer exists.
The internet changes everything about magazine disribution, they should, and probably are, thinking about how things from the perspective of content and distribution. This new model negates the reason for having door to door sales reps (i.e. publishers).
Perhaps they don't even need a magazine title. It is just information distributed and updated via JW.Org. Are they pushing information to Aps similar to how newspapers (i.e. New York Times) so that if you have a app you always get fed the proper food at the proper time?

BORG running low on $$$??
by fader77 indear brothers:.
re: personal literature supply.
reducing existing stock at the branch office before the revisions are released.

They will be shocked as to how much literature is returned. We once did a similar request at our local hall for a reason which I forget.
In any event it was unbelievable how much literature is stored in homes. The society clearly has a supply chain problem. While them may think that their literature ends up in the hands of the public and they like to promote the big numbers, the reality is that it just sits in publisher's homes. In any business this is referred to as channel stuffing.
- Channel stuffing is the business practice where a company, or a sales force within a company, inflates its sales figures by forcing more products through a distribution channel than the channel is capable of selling to the world at large.
