Here is a great reasonable OpEd piece from the NYTimes describing why you cannot teach creationism with evolution.

I do not want my 7 year old daughter taught goof-ball creationism concepts. I don't understand the connection to Satan. I don't think Satan believes in creationism.
one gets so used to jw speak.. re-read that question as an outsider.. would the shepherding of sisters be similar to the herding of cats?.

sparrowdown: Well they can't have pussies running riot can they.
This is something that I would pay money to see...
so many witnesses lost the opportunity to pursue higher education in their youths.
perhaps it took decades for many here to leave and now feel it is too late.
degree you will also earn multiple certifications from other agencies:.
rmt1: How long did the doctorate take? Can you trace an influence between non-academic life experience and getting tenure so quickly?
Good questions, pm me and I will send you my LinkedIn Profile. It took me 10 years to complete my doctorate. During the first few years of my studies I was an elder in good standing – very few people in the congregation knew I was going to school.
I took a non-traditional approach and worked full time. Most of the expenses were paid by my employer. My doctorate is in accounting and I have my CPA license. Accounting is a field where there is not much competition for those with a terminal degree, a CPA license, and an active research profile. I am a few years from tenure, but the tenure track seems fairly straightforward at my school.
yep, i joined 12 years ago today.
just thought i'd do a drive by and a shout out.
i'm still happy to be free.
We started our journey at the JWN site about the same time. Congratulations on hitting a significant milestone.

I finished my doctorate at 50 and am now teaching as a tenured track professor. It is NEVER too late.
given the recent holiday, i can't help but reflect that this has been a very good year and my life is pretty damn good.
there was a lot of hard work, but i get a sense that i am finally reaping the benefits of years of effort.. what do you have to be thankful for and has 2014 been a good year?.
.
Thank you for your comments. Getting to the point of where I am in my life took years. But not that I am here in freedom I am enjoying every minute. While I love to complain, the fact is that I am happy with 2014. It was a very good year.

i certainly wouldn't.
and if the elders wanted to have a meeting with me, i would respectfully decline.
if the elders wanted to deal with you, would you talk with them?.
I have a lot to worry about. This is not one of them. None of my elder "buddies" would even remember my name - and some are dead. For remaining living elders to track me down would take an effort that would not be worth the effort.
many jws enjoy turkey on thanksgiving day and are often discreet about their indulgences.
why be two faced?
why try to excuse it?.
Growing up in a JW family, we ALWAYS had turkey on Thanksgiving. It was also not unusual to invite friends over.
The part I hated was that we still had to go to the Thursday night meeting.
