You could incur tremendous legal fees, win the case, and then find you cannot collect. I would think long and before hard fighting someone's battle. But this is just my opinion.

Tell me what they are thinking or planning to do.
by LogCon inthis is the situation.. ten years ago two fleshly brothers and their wives, [ all are jw's and one is an elder] defrauded an elderly couple [ she was a jw/ he was friendly]out of the possession of their home and property.
one year after that, they took the life savings of the elderly couple and parked it in an account, without their knowledge.
when the old couple found out what happened, the four co-conspirators refused to return anything.

Governing Body at Bethel and their daily routine
by Tenacious ini never had the privilege to serve at bethel .. therefore, community help is greatly appreciated friends.. do the gb members have their own living quarters separate from the average jw?.
does their "busy" schedule permit field service, if yes, how many hours a month?.
how long are their weekly wednesday meetings?.

I lived in Brooklyn Heights and attended the meetings. There were GB members that attended the meetings. Back then they were really not the "rock stars" that you see in the current group. They went out in service. I went out in service once with Cary Barber. Although this was before he was part of the GB.

I completed a doctorate, but not in medicine. Why do you ask the question?

Conversation with a Seminary student over coffee . . .
by Terry inthis is a distilled (and from memory) reconstruction of a chat awhile back.

dub likes to start conversations with strangers.. today a seminary student caught his eye.

What if this conversation changed the trajectory of this young man? And that trajectory was not good. Would you feel guilty?
I don't want the burden of convincing that a person is wrong and then not providing a suitable plan B. That is a responsibility that I really can't deal with.

Kingdom chorus
by looter inso im at the meeting after its over and this elder says to me that god needs my voice because he, the elder, feels that my singing is not loud enough.
i did not tell him this, but singing just is not my thing.
he then went on saying how gods people are better singers than "the worlds singers".

I thought singing was a form of prayer. Who is this elder to judge your prayer to god.

I am confused. But perhaps I am mistaken. No, I am confused. I am just happy I don't have to sit through this Watchtower study.

This sort of throws out the window the whole concept of spirit appointed elders. That is, unless the HS is a pervert. Hmmm...

Going on 13 years, I am not a heavy poster, and will go for long periods without making a comment. However, I keep tabs on this site quite regularly.

Dennis blew a kiss to the victim and her mother in the public gallery as he admitted his crimes.
I wonder if is still a witness in good standing? Disgusting! Something tells me he will be getting what he deserves in prison. He will be blowing more than kisses.
