my grandmother and grandfather are both jehovah's witnesses.. i dont understand much about their religion just that they dont celebrate holidays such as christmas.. well today i went over to their house for a visit since they live 2 hours away and my cousins were there too.. we were all in the kitchen eating cookies and my brother said that we baked cookies but ours were for santa clause.
well then my grandma said that she doesnt celebrate christmas and she doesnt believe in santa.
so i say "well i do" and she says "well that means youre naiive and decieved".
Santa is just Satan with two letters interchanged. They both wear red.
I have heard this a few times from the platform. That is probably where she is getting the satan connection.
BTW, I no longer believe that Santa = Satan. Although, I am not sure which one I want to hang-out with.

ive seen this happen a couple of times.
It seems to me I remember in 1974 when we were lined up to get dunked someone was assigned to ask each candidate if this was their "first" baptism. Does anyone else remember this? Do they still do this?

In my history of close to 50 years I cannot recall any situation where someone labeled an "apostate" came back to the organization.

i was thinking last night of alot of the bs i've heard from the platform over the years and i thought of a real doosie and figured i'd post it for you all.
we had our co visit a few months ago.
in his opening talk he was encouraging the stepford congregation by regailing us with experiences from his visit with our sister congregation the week prior.
There was an over zealous MS that came back from working a territory that I hated.
He made a comment about how wonderful the territory was and that the car group started something like five studies in on Saturday morning.
At the time I was very disturbed. How could he find so many sheep when I only talked to assholes? In retrospect, I am sure what he was doing was reading a scripture and calling it a study. I am also positive that none of those people answered the door the next time he came by. (i.e. HBH - home but hiding)
I was accounts servant for many years. I did not see anything like that take place.
