i was talking to my sis, and we came up with this!

if we will be living for hundreds or thousands of years in "paradise", no death, no sickness, no war, no pestilence, no hunger," the former things will have passed away" don't remember the chapter or verse in the nwt, and what about the "raised from the dead" won't the world become overpopulated, remembered talking to my mom about it when we were little and she said it would never happen?

Generally a very boring long meeting. I hated the CO visit - too many meetings and the meeting with the CO was just one more I had to sit through.

seeing as i have the wt in front of me today, i thought you'd enjoy the questions from readers from the february 15, 2007 article on the evils and pagan origins on toasting or clinking of glasses.

the article specifically mentions how not everything today that was of pagan origin is necessarily bad, and sites "wedding rings" as being of pagan origin, but it's not viewed like that now.

then, incredibly, they go on and say that while toasting might not be considered a religious practice today, there's "good reason" for christians to avoid it------without giving any valid reason why other than: do as we say:.

How to get a scriptual divorce?

just wondering on how it is possible to get a scriptual divorce as my dad needs to get one but as much research done i can't see how he can get one but he says he has spoken to some elders and that they have said it can be granted but on what grounds?.

i know if you have committed adultery and extreme cases disertion but other that these is there any way else.. you see my mum basically up and left my dad and they have reconciled once but now its definately over and have a legal divorce, so would disertion come under this catorgory?

also my mum has battled mental illness(mainly major depression) for as long as i can remember can he do it on the grounds of mental capacity?.

To validate that someone is scripturally free the elders may be satified with a letter or phone call from the other mate.

Would your mother agree to writing a brief letter or contacting the elders notifying them that your father is free to marry?

Let's see:

Going out selling or distributing magazines is not preaching - it is selling.

Most religious organization preach. They may use the same constricted definition of preaching as the wts, but they do "preach."

Their preaching is far more effective as compared to the wts.

it's not even worth going to hr about because she makes sure you get fired if you do that, but not before dragging your reputation through the mud.

Thanks for the references. It seems to me that prior to the new light we believed that the "discusting thing" was seperate from the start of the Great Trib. With the new light the "discusting thing" marked the beginning of the GT.

It seems to me that there was a gap in time between changing the new light to the 1999 article that discarded the whole League of Nations/UN=discusting thing.

I remember when the changed the discusting thing dogma and thinking that the whol UN thing did not make sense. I guess I was getting ahead of the holy spirit. MY BAD.

Wasn't there a recent new light related to the "Disgusting thing that causes desolation" from Matt 24?

I grew up being taught that that was the League of Nations followed by the United Nations. That has recently changed to "we will have to wait and find out."
