i'm new here -- i confidently disassociated in 1994 (but really left the organization in 1992).
i was a ministerial servant and gave talks at conventions.
i'm not bragging, but just giving you an idea of my involvement.

The wt message will always appeal to certain groups. The message appeals to those hopeless people as a message of last resort (i.e. you don't need to fix your problems, just wait around for a few years and the new order will fix everything). These may not be the type of people that can add value to the organization.
However, thinking people now have the tools to clearly make an informed decision. I am sure that the numbers from this group have dwindled significantly.

i was raised as a witness, was disfellowshipped last year.
all my brothers and sister left too, so my parents were devastated when i left, as i was the only one left going to meetings.

in missouri at a ihop, a lesbian kissed another female (her gf) on the cheek, once while sitting in the restaurant.
the manager went over to the ladies and told them they were not welcomed there and therefore had to leave.
the women described the kiss on the cheek as a similar type of kiss to an "uncle".
My reaction would totally depend upon what these two lesbians look like. If they are hot, my reaction is MORE MORE MORE, hopefully they will show a little boobie.
On the other hand, if they are the rosie O'Donnell type. Forgetabout it. While I may not be offended, I go out of my way not to look.
Lest you think I am some sort of homophobe... My rule of thumb is that ugly people, in general, should not show public displays of affection. This may explain why I do not generally show public displays of affection.

i was at the braves stadium in atlanta all 8 days with a sunburn and then wet clothes after the rain storms.
if you were there (not necessarily in atlanta) do you remember anything about it?
We traveled Europe for a month and though we didn't get along, being in Europe was wonderful!

One that stands out in my mind was called "Let no man look down on your youth" Many there were shocked by some of the content of the drama.I remember that drama. I was 12 yo at the time. I found it rather titilating. But because I was only 12, I didn't know why.

Was at Kansas City at the campgrounds in some farmer's field. No running water for 8 days. I remember being bused to the campsite every night. The sessions ended about 9pm and it was really late when we finially got back.
my non jw aunt has died and attending the funeral will be many non witness family and friends and also jw family.
they have caused a lot of hurt these past couple of years and they have given a really "bad witness" (im really glad).
they are so pious, because they "make a stand " at every oppurtunity they can and act like spirtual polise this really pisses my non jw family off, but they put up with it.. well my aunt wanted "morning has broken" sung at the funeral and yes youve guessed it they have already said that they will not join in cos its a hymn.
"Morning Has Broken" was an obscure Christianhymn that became widely known when Cat Stevens included it on his 1971 best-selling album Teaser and the Firecat. It became a signature song for Stevens.
