The Moody Blues - Your Favorite Songs and Albums from them ?
by flipper ina band i really liked a lot growing up and as an adult was he moody blues.
their mixing of orchestration from an instrument called the " mellotron " and mixing the orchestration with electric guitars was fantastic.
they wrote very meaningful lyrics analyzing the situations in life as well as the world scene at the time.

The NY Times considered apostate literature by JWs? My parents think so.
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit ini tried to make nice and leave religious discussion out of things.
however, i found a ny times article about the bossert going on the market and i sent them the link, thinking they'd simply find it interesting, as i did, with no comments from me, just the link.. the article cites the age and history of the bossert, calling it the 'waldorf-astoria of brooklyn' and does suggest potential for great profit on it sale.
i found it interesting that it says that it was built in 1909, the same year that jws set up shop in brooklyn.

I am seperated and divorced. The process was very painful and very expensive. But in the end worth every penny and sleepless night.
Get a good lawyer to protect your assets. I wrote checks over $80K last year not counting the asset distribution. My good christian ex wife thought she won the lottery when we seperated.
Which is ironic considering amoung her many complaints was that I was a "lover of money" and that I had a career against Wt policy.

Mr Flipper you bring back memories of a 50 yo male..
Here is the memory. Early 70s and I am a red blooded male raised in a cultish religion. The one thing that was allowed was skating parties. The best part about a skating party was the couples dance.
The ALWAYS played "nights in white satin."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9muzyOd4Lh8
I remember skating with Terry, Angie, and a few other young sisters. I also remember coping a feel (always by accident), and I believe I had my firsrt real "girl" erection during one of those dances.
Ah, the memories..... and now I am an old man. I can still get an errection, but there is nothing like the first.

Satan is busier closer to the end, so shouldn't he and demons be......
by oompa in...flying about, attacking just about every witness when they least suspect it?
like when taking a crap?
or take us over when making love causing us to do dispicable things in bed?

Satan does not have to work too hard any more. He now has his agent, the JWD discussion forum, to do his work for him.
This forum had done more to discredit the wt than all the satanic hocus pocus performed over the last century.
Congratulations to us all. May the demons flying through our head continue the good work.

So just what or who DO you have faith in now?
by oompa ini never used to wonder about death, or what comes after, because i had all the answers!
but now i really wonder, but not with fear....it feels odd, and i am curious.
this planet and universe are so incredible and complex that to me it defies logic that someone must have had a creative hand it.

Also, in regards to death. I will worry about that after I die. I want to live now.

I believe that god has given the ability to man to be able to muddle through life and generally make things better over time. This is not a straight line, but the general trend is up.
You can complain all you want about how bad things are but we have a relative stability and have a much better life that did our parents, grandparents and so on. I believe that our children will have a better life than us. I believe that their children will have a better life than their parents. And so on.
We have survived great tragedy and will survive future tragedies because god has given us a mind and the skills to cope with change
I believe that the creativeness of man will overcome high oil prices, global warming, and Britney Spears.
That is my faith.

Wow, the year is 2008, and still no Armageddon!
by Nosferatu inevery time we enter a new year, i think about how i wasn't supposed to make it this long.
i really believed we wouldn't live past the year 2000, and armageddon would change everything.
it almost strikes me as living on borrowed time, but then i remember that armageddon is a story, not a reality.

I graduated highschool in 1975 and now I am 50. I lived through the hype where your spirituality was judged based upon your trust in 1975.
And now here I am. Most of the elders from that timeperiod have died of old age. Those that remain are either out of the organization or are in a state of denial.

Freedomfighter, my best wishes to you. Your story brings back memories. I had many similar conversations over the years and could never get my spouse to understand that I had valid issues with what we believed.
We are now divorced after 15 years of fighting about the "truth." I hope it goes better for you.
