We are called Apostates. Jw's should be called Brain Dead Drones or Idiots.

Again, More confusion about the direction of the Watchtower Society
by Truth and Justice inhi friends, i have not been on this board in awhile, and i would like to get some thoughts from some of you.
i have noticed a change within my 4 siblings in approximately the last year and a half to 2 years regarding their communication with my mother and i. they have either phoned us, texted, emailed, or written a letter or card to us.
the conversation has been good, and on any topic that comes to mind.

Watchtower needs money, so they want to bring back as many pockets as possible to fill their coffers.

Elderly and sick: Out of sight, out of mind
by Captain Schmideo2 insomeone else posted something a similar experience, this is one i had regarding my mom.my mom died last year.
she had been in failing health for years, but the last 2 year were pretty rough for her, with lots of visits to the hospital.
the last 4 months, it was the hospital, a skilled nursing facility/rehab unit, and finally, a nursing home.

It is amazing how they show up when you have money. They want some of it. Some where asking about who was managing the estate and who gets the house? I'm glad my dad saw eye to eye with me and keep things in the family. But every once in a while we get an elder snopping in on us and especially our mother since she benefits from the estate.

When My Dad had cancer, No one came to see him. But at his in the Kingdumb Hall funeral, everyone was there. A great deal of my relatives are not JW's came. The funeral talks are usually 5 to 10 minutes about the dead, then it turns into a commercial for the Org. Many of my relatives got up went outside and smoked and talked about my Dad. One elder came out to round us back in. He even started with his sales pitch about the Org. We didn't move and told him he is delusional.

How would you define RELIGION, and why?
by Fernando in"judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.
this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .
this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.

Watchtower would love it if Taylor Swift becomes a Jdub. They like to get their hands on that cash.

Were JW Celebrities Ever An Asset To The Organisation?
by NotFormer injust wondering if the rich celebrities that occasionally were aligned with the wt gave enough to the 'tower to be a worthwhile presence within the organisation?.
my gut instinct is: "no".
i imagine that the jackson family gave a fair bit, but it was obviously never enough to buy michael the right to be held as being in good standing.
