I also received an email similar to that one.
I wonder how many people will think these things are for real
and get involved?

when i left the religion, i walked away and did not get df'ed or da myself.
in doing so, my wife left the religion at the same time.
in our life we have been very nonwitness in our life.
There are cases I'm sure where the elders aren't agressive as far as finding a reason to df an inactive JW.
And I'm sure there are cases where the elders feel they MUST find something to df an inactive person.
The way I see it,I think the WTS wants a complete seperation between active and inactive JWs.
The WTS wants to be in control of any and all activities of the JWs.
They know they don't have any control over inactive and exJWs.
If they can keep the two groups seperated they have a better chance of keeping their control.
And along with control comes power.
Plus the fact that they know inactive ones are visiting these boards and are doing what they can to help get active ones out of the org. by feeding information about the WTS to them.
We know the WTS wants to keep their followers in the dark and only wants them to see the light the WTS wants to show them.
So I think all of this 'new light' business about keeping JWs from asociating with family members that aren't active JWs is only to try to keep them from finding out as so many have done the truth about the WTS.

martin luther offered the first historicist interpretation of bible prophecy.
he boldly announced his divine inspiration that the pope of rome is both the antichrist and the " man of sin " .
babylon the great was understood to be the roman empire.
Hello Zechariah,
Haven't seen you post in awhile.
Welcome back. [:-)]
Interesting comparison between the early church reformers and xJWs.
Certainly, there are those xJWs that are just as brave as Martin Luther was.
I could name some but I wouldn't want to leave any out so I'll refrain from doing that.
That's quite a response you recieved on H20.
Certainly soething to think about.

reading voltaires post about his mom not shunning him got me thinking.. i'm sure there will be other parents as well as siblings that see the falicy of the wts teaching that parents must shun their children if the wts demands it.. but what do you think will happen if the wts decides to make examples out of those parents that would dare not blindly follow the wts directions?.
what will happen if the wts starts dfing the parents that will not shun their children?.
as we are finding out, the wts wants even those that are not df or da'd shunned.. that's obvious from the acounts of those that are being shunned even tho they are not df or da'd.. so what do you think will happen when the wts realizes that they don't have complete control of their followers and some of them (gasp) are continuing having a relationship with their children even tho they may for whatever reason not be a practicing jw?.

the wt.
of august 15, 2002 asks:"the violent and deadly gladatorial events of the roman empire have been compared to what modern spectator sports?
a recent exibit in the colosseum in rome, italy, suggested modern parallels by including video clips of bullfighting, professional boxing, auto and motorcycle races, and spectator fights at other modern sports events.early christians took to heart that jehovah does not love violence or violent ones, and neither should christians today.
They want to take away any and every kind of enjoyment the r&f JW has outside of the WTS.
It's no wonder JWs look foward to earths inhabitants being anihilated.
They basically have NOTHING but what mother org. gives them.
Which is NOTHING but burdens upon burdens upon burdens.
The JWs claim they aren't brainwashed?
They aren't allowed to read anything the WTS doesn't want them to read, enjoy any activity the WTS doesn't want them to enjoy, basically do anything the WTS doean't want them to do.
And they say they aren't controlled?!?!?
Bike racing as well as any other sport is not condemned in the Bible.
So why is the WTS going beyond what is written?!?!?
The answer:::: CONTROL

hello, i am new to this board in a way.
i have been reading messages for about a month now and just got the nerve up to register an account so i can give my "two cents" once in a while.
i was raised a jw, but just recently expressed openly that i do not have plans on associating with them any longer.. anyways, not going to type my story out right now, as i do not know if any one wants to hear it.
".I haven't been able to bring myself to formerly introduce myself-just kinda crept in through the backdoor lol."
These newbies are pretty sneaky.
WELCOME newbies.

what is anyones opinion.
do you think the world has been put on notice with the flymsy pages of the watchtower & awake magazines, and the door to door ministry?
dismembered but not dismemberededited by - dismembered on 18 august 2002 9:1:53.
The message the JWs teach is: " If you're not apart of the WTs you will suffer a severe and catastrofic (spl?) ending."
I can't quote the articles from the mags., but I'm sure others have them.
Isn't that the message that we've taught at the doors?
Somehow, I don't think the world has been put on notice with that message.

people here often use the example of the boroeans, who examined the scriptures to test 'whether theses things were so' to try and encourage jws to test their beliefs and see if they really measure up to the bible.. as usual, the society twist scriptures so that they mean the opposite of what was intended.
anyway, that's the feeling i get after reading this study article:.
watchtower september 15th 2002. .
jgnat says:
"I wonder if a stranger showed up at Bethel with some amazing claims on Jehovah's promises, if the meek Bethelites would eagerly search out the scriptures to see if that stranger were correct?"
I'm sure the response from the Bethelites would go something like this......
Hmmm sounds interesting. But did you check with our writing department?
If they didn't write it, it can't be true..
After all, we have Gods mouthpiece right here with us and I'm sure we would know things before you.
What do you think?
Sound like something bethelites would say?????

just wondering - new game out, developed by the us army.
it's based on the unreal tournament 2003 engine, so it looks pretty good.
decent gameplay, a lot of innovative features for shooters.. best of all, it's free.. wondering if anyone else has taken a shot at it yet?
OK.
So, where's the link?
