Valid alternatives to the door to door preaching work?
by El blanko inok - so i had a talk/debate with a guy today who insists that he sees "nobody else talking about the end of the world" and that "the door to door work the jws perform is the best way to preach.
this guy has a brother who is disfellowshipped.
he has never been baptized, yet has an ongoing interest and believes the jws are a special people.

The answer to this question is what stopped me and many others from remaining with the JWs.
Unless the JWs are saying that God is a liar and loves the lie, their preaching of lies and contributing them to God is a complete farce and waste of time that does nothing but contribute to a book publishing company.
Valid alternatives to door to door preaching?
There aren't any and can't be any if what they are preaching is a lie.

Depressed and doubting...
by dura-luxe ini've been out for 8 years, and for the first time in my life i am doubting.. not big doubts, but little ones.
it's all the middle east and the "peace and security" talk.
i feel like armageddon is coming.. the brainwashing never ends.

There are many end time religious groups that believe we are in the end times.
Does that make them Gods spokes people because of that claim?
Even IF we are in the end time, belonging to a certain religious group does not guaranty that God will save us because of this.
Especially when certain groups have proven beyond all doubt that they do NOT speak for God.
We know the WTS loves to claim that God is using them as His mouth piece.
They say all we have to do to possibly be saved is attend all meetings, be out in WTS service selling magazines and books, and believe without a doubt whatever they teach whenever they teach it.
For a group claiming to be Gods ONLY spokesman, Nowhere in the Bible will you find any of this being taught.
They claim to be the only ones using Gods name and yet in one of their publications they admit it is not Gods name. ( I can't remember which book it's in at the moment.)
They claim to be the ONLY true Christian orginization and yet they do none of the works that Jesus said His followers would be doing. ie:feeding the poor,ect..ect...
And don't forget what the scriptures say about false prophets.
The WTS has certainly proven that that is what they are.
So the WTS has NO proof to back up the claim that they are Gods spokeman.
But ther is plenty of proof that they are NOT.

Thoughts on God?
What can we really say about a being that none of us have ever seen?
It's all about faith. Isn't it?
What we do know..... Is that we are here.
How we came to be here? Well we have been taught that we have been created.
That I believe. Someone...Something created us. But who or what? And for what reason?
Those of us that have believed what the Bible says, have believed that God created us and then let the devil trick, decieve, abuse, and otherwise have his way with us ever since.
I don't know how we are to understand this. A perfect being that is suppose to be love and goodness has let pure evil rule His creation.
Of course we can only look at this thru the eyes of imperfect creatures.
Will any of us ever come to know all the answers to the questions that mankind has been searching for millenia? Only time will tell.
There are other angles on the idea of God.
Look at all the different beliefs that people and religions thruought the world have on God.
There are even groups that believe we (the human race) were created by alien beings for the purpose of being their slaves and that the aproaching planetX, the tenth planet, Niburu or whatever else you want to call it is where this alien race resides.
There are many people that would go to their graves defending some of those beliefs.
Which group is correct? Do any of us have any proof whatsoever?
All we really know is what we see and feel. Everything else is interpertation. Faith.
Time will reveal all. Won't it?

How Many Here Are "Technically" Still JWs???... Who's Not??
by minimus inwhat i mean is according to the society, there are a number of persons that are "technically" "inactive" yet are viewed as jws still.
i'm sure that i'm viewed as a witness still because i am not df'd or disassociated.....what about you??

Technically I still am.
But only because I refuse to play by their rules and DA myself.
Some still talk to me although I'm sure they consider me spiritually weak.
But every chance I get, I slip with some statement that may get them to 'THINK' even if only for a moment.

I prefer the ones with the 'Bonnet' tho.

Do you drive the lorries?
Most major highways here only allow up to 13'6" in hight do to overhangs.
Of course there are certain roadways that allow higher than 13'6" but a permit must be gotten.
How high are the lorries allowed to go?

Of course you are right about this.
My point was that if God wanted His name to be known and used He would have made it so when they were translating the scriptures into english and other languages.
Now it can't be too dificult for God to make sure of that if it was important.
