Introducing myself..hello all...

this forum seems to be a friendly group, not to mention i see jt, englishman, focus, waiting and few others that are very familiar to me from h20.. i live in california.
i was raised as a jw (third generation), got the unceremonious 'boot'(df)in 1980-81 been so long..i can't remember the actual date.

The Talk
by neyank indoes anyone remember the talk given at the kh where the speaker was saying that the bible is an orginization book?.
that the bible can only be interpreted by the "faithful slave"?.
that it wasn't meant to be for the ordinary person, so the only way we'll uderstand it is if we listen to the "slave".. now this was only a couple of yrs.

When things start getting rough, let the weakest links suffer.
I guess from the sound of it,the weakest links are the elders.
They are going to be the fall guyes.
Even though all the elders do is follow orders from "MOTHER".
Imagine that.
Coming from an orginization that claims to be Gods sole channel of communication.
God doesn't work that way.

Hi ISP,
I remember hearing talks like that at the KH.
Always putting down anything that had to do with living in this "system of things".
It's no wonder there is so much depression in the orginization.
What always got to me was the fact that the WTS was more than happy to take advantage of "worldly oginizations" to get by.
If they want to be separate from the world,why ask the world to help?
But that is the majority of thinking in the org.You've got to hand it to the WTS. They know how to brainwash.

What to call it

Both references are good ones. They depict places that people go to relax,hang out and have some chit chat.
Does everyone feel that way about this board?
And if you do, what would you like to call our neighborhood coffee shop?Perhaps Simons Place?

i just read another passage where the nwt manages to slaughter the english language.. acts 21:30 .
nwt ...., and a running together of the people occurred:.... kjv ..., and the people ran together:.... niv ..., and the people came running from all directions.. this is an excerpt from the foreword of the nwt; it is a very responsible thing to translate the holy scriptures........into modern speech.

Well said.
It is all a matter of trust.
We who were JWs, were taught to trust the WTS above anyone or anything else. That includes families.
Whatever the WTS said was considered law as coming from God.
That's why they say to those with questions they can't answer to wait on Jehovah.
Basically they're saying TRUST US even if you have questions because maybe we'll come up with some answers at a later time. And if we don't, continue to trust us anyway.
