  What did you do?

  to all those who have in some way left the organization (be it disfellowshipping, disassociating, dis-whatever):.

  come now, i know the amount of people who "realized that wt doctrine was in serious error" and politely handed in their letter of resignation has to be very small.

  the level of bitterness and hostility towards the closest-to-what's-biblical organization has to develop some other way.. what did you do?

  You are correct in stating that the WTS only interpreted existing prophecies
  sometimes incorrectly. That's only human nature.
  What about the fact that they have changed their teachings over and over again?

  The WTS has stated that they are Gods chosen orginization.
  That God gives them infomation to dispense to His people.

  Do you think God is a liar?
  Do you think God would tell His people a lie and demand that they
  believe it?
  If the WTS is Gods chosen orginization,why have they constantly
  changed their teachings?
  Don't you think God would have told them the truth the first time?

  You stated that you chose what sucks the least.
  Is that how we are to detemine how God wants us to worship Him?
  And you said you actually do something that the Bible says.
  Well, what is it you do that the Bible says to do?

  This must be a belated April fools joke.
  You can't be serious when you say you started reading "apostate" web sites
  and still decided to get baptized into the WTBTS.
  What did you do with all of the info out there about the WTS?
  Did you decide to close your eyes to it?
  If you truly want to worship God, why would you chose to
  follow a false prophet?
  If you believe that the Bible is the Word of God, do you believe what
  He says about false prophets?

  And of course you realize that not everyone that left the WTS
  left because they want to live in oposition to God.
  Many have left because they cannot belong to a orginization that has taught lies
  in the name of God.

  And for your information, I still believe in God and His Word.

  I still think your post is a joke.

  Was Eve Deceived?

  i was asked the question, how was eve deceived and not adam?

  persons that believe adam and eve were placed in the garden the very same 24 hour day are wrong.

  even the society after the 1975 failure, only then did they act upon the fact that eve was placed in the garden sometime after adam.

  Hi Bruce,
  Good theory about what happened in the garden.
  Only problem is,it's only a theory.
  The Bible says nothing about parrots talking and that's how Eve
  was fooled into believing a serpent could talk.
  It would be nice if the book of Genisis explained it in more detail
  but it doesn't.
  We weren't there and we can only speculate about what could have
  happened in the garden.
  Maybe someday God will see fit to enlighten us on that but for now
  all we can do is guess on what might have happened.

  i'm curious: how many years were you in before you left?

  by left, i mean either df'd and decided not to go back, or da'd, or faded, or even just realized it was a crock but stuck around anyway for family reasons?.

  we're told in la-la-land that it's the newly baptized, those who are "spiritually immature" that mostly leave.

  Hi expat,
  I got baptized in 1980.
  Left for a few years in 1987. (disfellowshipped)
  Because I really thought the WTS was Gods chosen org.,
  I went back and put myself thru a years worth of being
  ignored and was reinstated.
  I had some questions the elders couldn't answer so I
  started doing research looking for the answers.
  Found the answers in Ray Franz' books.
  Have been inactive for about 3 yrs. now.

  i hope this is a friendly place, because i could sure use some friends.

  this is my first try at posting on a discussion board, though i have been lurking here and at a few others on the same subject for a few weeks now.

  about 4 weeks ago i took the plunge and decided to see just what all the mystery and danger of reading "apostate" material was all about.

  Welcome to the board.
  I can't add anything else to what's already been said.
  You've been given some good advice. Take it slow and easy.
  I know it comes as a shock to think you can be duped by a man made orginization,
  but the fact is most of us here were fooled into believing the WTS was from God
  and had His backing.
  Whenever I saw something in the news (t.v., newspapers) about a cult and how
  they controlled their followers, I always thought, how foolish can those people be?
  Why didn't they check out the religion better?
  How can they give up their right to be guided by their own concience?

  And then I realized I was doing the same things that those people that got
  themselves involved in a cult were doing.
  All I can say right now is READ,READ, and after that READ some more.
  One thing to remember is, real "truth" can stand up to any investigation.
  And Gods truth doesn't change.

  Along with the discussion on Wall St.
  I always wondered how the WTS could condemn buying lottery tickets
  but it was ok to play the stock market.
  To me it's the same.
  You take a couple of dollars and buy a couple of lottery tickets
  or you take a couple of dollars and buy some stocks.
  Either one could win or loose.
  But the WTS doesn't see it that way.

  What sort of accountability?

  i was just wondering what the thoughts were as to what sort of accoutability the average witness bears for their actions?.

  how much can be blamed on the mind control of a cult, especially when many of us regret how we behaved with what we knew then compared to how we act with what we know now?.

  what sort of actions can be excused and what cannot?

  Hi Path,
  The individual witness is responsible for his/her own actions.
  While it is true the WTS is a mind controlling cult,
  we let ourselves be controled.
  They (WTS) has no power over us unless we give them that power.

  And to those that are still active going out in field service,you are responsible
  for what you're teaching people at the door.
  That's the major reason I became inactive.
  I could not go door to door telling people that they had to become JWs
  to earn Gods favor.
  So even though the WTS says it is Gods orginization, we the rank and file JW
  go door to door telling people that is so.
  WE are responsible for helping to spread the lies of the WTS.
