if a man knocked on your door and introduced himself as jesus christ son of jehovah, would you ask him in and feed him or would you slam the door in his face and call the cops?.

if your daughter came home pregnant and claimed it was an imaculate conception, would you believe her?.

why do you believe in the other virgin birth?.

Hi Tom,
Interesting questions.
If a man said that he is Jesus,he should certainly be able to
back up that claim as Jesus did 2000 yrs. ago.
He rose people from the dead,cured people from sicknesses,
fulfilled all the prophesies pertaining to His coming.
So I guess if a man making such a claim as him being Jesus
proved it as Jesus did before, I would certainly take him in and feed Him.

As far as my daughter coming home pregnant, (excuse me while I pull my hair out!!!!)
claiming it was by imaculate conception, I don't think I would believe that.
The scriptures state that when Jesus comes again, all eyes will see Him.
I think that would go against Him being born again via imaculate conception.

greetings one and all, many of you will know me from rick's board, for those of you who don't here's a bit about me.

my association with the society is through my wife.

when we married she was an inactive memeber (she had disassociated herself over guilt from her divorce), after marrying me, she became active again and was reinstated.

Welcome to the board.
I've enjoyed reading your posts at H20.
Good point you made in reguard to formally disassociating from the WTS would be
giving them authority over that person.

That's the stance I have taken myself.
I've been inactive for a couple of years and I have come to the realisation that the WTS
is not Gods chosen org.
But I have no plans on giving them a formal letter of disassociation as that would show them
that they still have power over me.

You said that you're a chaplains ass. with the special forces?
That wouldn't be the 10th would it?

just remove them from your mouth and hold them up to the light.. 10)your secrets are safe because your friends can't remember them.. 11)you no longer have to waste money on things like sexy underwear, water skis, entrance fees for marathons and home pregnancy kits.. 12)your friends are too nearsighted to notice that you are not wearing makeup.. 13)things that you buy now will not wear out.. 14)you can watch for the obituaries of people you don't like.. 15)your spouse still snores, but you can't hear it.. 16)your joints are more accurate or predicting the weather than the weather channel.. 17)you are less and less likely to be subjected to a strip search.. 18)you can turn off your hearing aid when you've heard the joke before.. 19)you can't remember bush is president.. 20)you have less grey hairs to count because you have less hair.

god i hated it..every living breathing minute of it.

it was pure hell for me, and based on the pace i see the jws all over the world moving, they aint so fond of it neither.

the persecution that the jws feel they get is from irritated householders who know nothing about their religion except that they hit people over the head with it and then judge them because they dont like being hit over the head with it.

I also hated going out in service. Although I did ok at informal witnessing.
Something about going door to door gave me anxiety attacks.
Maybe the fact that I used to get stage fright in front of crowds was
the reason.

Riz, you mentioned how it would be knocking on a door and having your classmates
living there.
Well I knocked on a door once and it wasn't one of my old classmates, it was someone I
grew up with and hung around and partied with. (Sorry. I didn't grow up in the "Truth".)
I haven't seen this person for a while. And of course he didn't know I had become a J.W.
So talk about swollowing your tounge.

Jesus and the greys

jesus and the greys.....my comment may skip out to outer space but after further study it does seem to have some merits and some basis in scripture.

i am wondering if anyone has come across this and your opinions please.. chuck missler and mark eastman (both devout christians) have a theory that possibly satan and the demons will visit earth in the form of aliens from outer space.

most of the world is expecting such an event anyway and would this not be a perfect opportunity for satan to convince the world that he is in charge of the universe and is "god".. some of the scriptures they use are based in the old testament writings such as the nephelim and "the sons of god" who married women on earth and had offspring.....this was one reason for the flood,,,,to destroy these people.. in the new testament satan will come using all kinds of counterfit miracles, signs and wonders, it also says that the secret power of lawnessnes is at work now (ufo & alien sightings???

Interesting subject to get into.
Isn't there a religion that believes and teaches this
very thing?
I get into the ufo theories from a sci-fi point of view.
E.T. was by far one of my favorites. Sorry James T Kirk. (Star Trek)

As far as The angels or demons being aliens, I guess it could be possible.
And you're right about some people expecting ufo's to land and make
themselves known.

We can only imagine what will actually occur to make people believe the anti christ.
I guess we won't know for sure until it happens.

The main problem for mankind is that we can only view the Bible and it's prophecies
from a human point of view with all of its limitations.

this is my farewell message.

i just want to say thanks to the number of people who i have spoken to and share stories with, i thought i was the only one who left for the reasons i did but i have met many and they have strenghened me in my life course now, basically i had never looked up witnesses before and was thinking about returning to the borg when i found this site, you all made me see that it would be like going backwards.

i feel strong now and will be not returning to this site, mainly as i want to let the past stay in the past, wts is the past and while i keep re-hashing it it will always affect my life.. thanks all.

Hi TR,
I've been wanting to learn how to play raquetball.
I play some tennis and handball.
Do the health club thing.
My favorite health type activity is rowing.
And of course when I row to the middle of a lake
I like to jump off the boat and swim around for awhile.
It's nice and peacefull swimming in the middle a lake.
Just me and the fishies.

Memorial or insult?

let me preface this with a disclaimer.

i believe in god and a higher spiritual state however i do not believe that god can be encapsulated in any one religion.. that being said, i was thinking the other day about the upsoming high holy day of dubdom, the memorial.. this is where they gather together to ...what?

listen to a talk about the last hours of jesus life and then pass wine and bread around.

That's what I've been saying.
The way the WTS celebrates the memorialis a disgrace.
They claim only the 144,000 should partake of the emblems.
Where does it say that in the Bible?
They say that is so because Jesus told His disciples to do this in
memory of Me at the Last Supper.
I think this is another case of the WTS adding more to the scriptures
than was actually said.
I think it is up to the individual person to decide if he/she wants to partake.

Let's remember,there weren't that many followers of Christ at that particular
time. It was after the Crucifiction that the disciples really went to work
spreading the Good News of Christ.

So with that thought in mind,don't you think Jesus would have told all followers to
do this?
Plus the fact that Jesus knew what was going to happen to Him. As a human
He must have been tearing up inside. And the Last Supper was with those
that He started out with. Ones He had a special bond with.

Could it be that because the disciples were to tell the world the Good News
of Christ, they were also to tell the world to observe the memorial and partake of the emblems?

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Hi nojw,
I guess I would have to clasify the WTS as a mind altering cult.
Because they definitely brainwash their folowers.
I believe all of us here will attest to that.

I will say however, that the individual JW (for the most part) has a good heart and
sincerely believes he/she is doing what God wants.

The problem is that they (the rank and file JW) have allowed someone else
to tell them what to do to please God.
Even going as far as to close their eyes to what the Bible says and instead
gives control of their concience to a orginization that doesn't have the capacity
to guide it properly.
