Why dont JW's have a youth group?

something that has been alarming to my jw family is the amount of teens ("young ones") that have bailed out of the organisation, never to return.. they use the excuse, as would most jw's that "satan is getting them - he knows young ones are vulnerable.".

if you want my opinion, young people are getting far more educated - they are becoming far more broad minded than they were say 10 or 20 years ago.

because of the slow yet sturdy slackening of the "no college" rule, many more young jw's are attending university or college than ever before, and with further education comes more knowledge, more interaction with reasonable and intelligent conversations with educated people and most importantly -use of the internet ("satans latest tool, as put by a jw i talked to recently).

Many many other religions have different things going on for members and non members alike.

I remember hearing from other JWs how having such things is a waste of time with us being so close to the end.

The bottom line is, the WTS is a publishing corporation.

All other things, such as having the fruits of the spirit, showing love to your fellow man, helping those that are distressed and the like, take a back seat to getting out on the streets going door to door trying to sell magazines.

Sure the WTS uses God to atract people to them, but once a person is in, it's advertise,advertise, advertise what is in the magazines.

Even if the info in them is constantly changing.

"What exactly is the WT doing to keep it's young ones in the org?"

They are doing the same thing they do to older people to keep them in.

Keep beating them down, telling them that they are not good enough.

That they must door more door to door work.
(selling magazines.)

That they must not dare to think that there is any future outside of the WTS.

That if they leave the WTS, they will be anihilated, desroyed, fed to birds of prey, and otherwise have a really bad day!

Of course with such uplifting words said by an orginization that teaches that to be loved by God, one MUST become enslaved to a man made orginization it's no wonder young ones are leaving.

What Are Your Beliefs?

i am very curious in what everyone believes as far as religious beliefs.. since leaving the org, i feel i am still in a limbo state, i'm not quite sure of what i believe yet.

i believed a lie most of my life which i'm sure most of you can relate with, so its not so easy for me to jump right into something else.. i do feel there is a superior being who created us all.

i am still trying to sort things out.. so if you care to share, are you atheist, pagan, christian, etc.?

I still believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ.

I believed in them before becoming a JW and still believe in them after leaving the JWs.

The WTS as well as every other religion on earth at this time is controlled and run by imperfect mankind with their imperfect ideas on God and what He wants.

I do believe before the actual end comes God will make sure that we humans do know what the real truth about Him is, and it won't be from any orginization that keeps changing what their version of truth is.

Once again a JW apologist states :

"It is a tragedy to see the pain of the lost souls on this board. Everything that we have been warned of by the Society about leaving Jehovah, comes out and smacks you in the face on this board."

How can you compare leaving a man made, man run, imperfect, lieing and down right not nice orginization to leaving God?

This is a serious question.

Why and how can you compare any human group to God?

Don't you think that if there was the slightest proof that God was using the WTS,
most of us would not have left?

Many have asked it over and over again.

What proof does the WTS have that they are Gods orginization?

Straw that broke the Camels Back

so, whats the straw that broke the camels back in your life?

what was the final last straw that made you say thats it- no more?

i have so many-for 15 years i kept getting that last straw-and trying to ignore it- but i think the last straw was when my dad died- everyone kept (keeps) giving me the line of bs about never seeing him again unless i go to meetings.

The straw that broke my camels back was finding
out about the history of the WTS.

The change in teachings over the years.
That definately was not something my book study
conductor got into. ( I wonder why.)

Finding out that people lost their lives due to WTS doctrine.
Only to have that doctrine changed after a few years.

The BIG straw was the change in the 1914 generation teaching.

The question I had to ask myself at that point was,
If the WTS was Gods chosen orginization, how
could they have possibly gotten that teaching wrong?

And then the decision.

Could I go out in service any longer teaching people
the ever changing doctrine of the WTS?

If I continued going out in service teaching people
the teachings of the WTS after learning how wrong they
have been about many, many things, would that not make me
just as guilty as the WTS for decieving people?

Are you an apostate?

Have you left another belief system to become a JW?

Once you understand what the word apostate really means, maybe you'll
not use it in an insulting way.

Picture this if you will.

A person has been going to Mcdonalds Resturaunt for a long time.
They love the food from there.

All of a sudden they try Burger King.
They start liking that food better.
Now they no longer go to Mcdonalds but
instead they stick with Burger King.

Now tell me.

Is this person an apostate?

Doesn't that sort of supreme arrogance coming from the leaders of a little two-bit bullshit religion that claims most Bible prophecy is fulfilled by THEM bother you in the least?

Farkel, that's a good question.
However we know from being there that the average JW can't distinguish between God and the WTS.

To them, they are one and the same.
