  i know that it must seem silly to ask, but my brother and his family think that the big a will arrive before they die.

  i tried to explain to my brother that everyone else who has ever lived in the past has died and only jesus has [physically] rose from the dead.. it is amazing that anyone could buy that line.

  what crazy cult culture that could make people believe such nonsense?!.

  Yes I did - and I am still having a very hard time adjusting to the idea that in the not very far future I will blink out of existence.

  Being cheated out of decades of a life of my choice doing things I would have enjoyed, making a contribution to humanity, is a hard pill to swallow.

  Seems like REAL WORLD DATA would say that was total BS.
  
  Also - how does the org quantify world anger? Did they do an global exhaustive study.
  
  Silly me - well they did get this rock solid pice of info quoted in the WT mentioned in the outline.

  What novels have you been reading recently? Recommend any?

  i've always been a bit of a reader - but only reading about topics i find interesting, e.g.

  natural history, dinosaurs, etc.. recently i've started to select, buy and read novels.. this year i've bought and read frankenstein (mary shelly), dracula (bram stoker), the hound of the baskervilles (a. conan doyle), 'salem's lot (stephen king), jurassic park (michael crichton) and the firm (john grisham).. i have an inclination towards horrors and thrillers.. what fiction have you been reading?.

  could you recommend anything?.

  Midweek meeting video

  did anybody see the service meeting video this week?.

  australian sister was sexually abused as a child and thought of ending her life at 14 years old, sometime later jw's call on her father who accepts a study and eventually the whole family becomes witnesses, life gets much better as the sister immerses herself in pioneering etc, she still has some dark days but prayer along with going for walks and swimming has helped her cope with bad memories of child abuse, the new system (just around the corner) will completely fix everything......... i'm dumbfounded, the hypocrisy has literally rendered me speechless......comments anybody?.

  I was always perplexed by that verse.

  Why did god step down the age of people from almost 1000 to 120 then to 70 or 80.

  You dont need further proof that the bible is BS and a bunch of badly tied together stories from bedouins than the book of genesis.

  Is changing the "truth" / presenting "new light" really so bad?

  playing devil's advocate here.... what's the difference between the gb changing bible interpretations compared to parliaments all over the world changing laws?

  although the us constitution (=bible) remains untouched, congress passes i don't know how many new laws every year.

  and of course people are expected to follow them.

  Does it not dawn on the cart witnesses?

  i sat in town recently, right in the window of a nice wee pub.

  within minutes i realised that i had a perfect view of a jw cart and the two ridiculously dressed jw's (they have absolutely no individuality at all.

  what's more, they all look like they're going to a funeral).

  Well - think of it like this.
  They get to FEEL the are Slaving for the Lord - while doing absolutely nothing.
  The only thing better would be if they could do this at home.
  They even get to take turns sitting in the car - or going for coffee.

  Service has become so much easier - almost every other month there is some campaign where all you do is hand out flyers without having to get into a conversation.

  And now you have Carts where all you do is stand.

  I bet it won't be long till the Pio hrs requirement is dropped again (was 90 when I was doing it) then it will be a great shout of praise when the rolls increase:)

  update on mouthy (grace gough)this is graces granddaughter.

  i wanted to send an update that today my beautiful grandmother passed away - surrounded by friends and family.
