RUMOUR - Regarding future memorials
by Listener ini heard this on the youtube channel - bad jw round table discussions and i normally don't give much thought to rumours, i did find this one interesting.one of the guys on the channel said that there are plans that 'the other sheep' will be told not to attend any future memorials.he was asked how credible was this and he said that it is talk going around by those in the know, just like there had been those that knew about the fairly recent new edition of the bible being in production.even if this is probably just a rumour, the idea has a lot of merit.
the benefits for the organization outweigh the negatives and would fit in with their current direction.here are some of the benefits, for the org.
that could come from it- the biggest benefit would come from not having to accommodate so many attendants, which are more than double a normal meeting.

Why did Jesus need to experience a human childhood?
by HB ini've never been a jw and haven't ever studied the bible or theology so it may be that there is a simple answer to my question that i'm not aware of, in which case, please forgive my ignorance.
however i have wondered about this for quite some time and have scoured the internet but i can't find any mention of the topic.
maybe someone here might enlighten me.

Richard Oliver - since the (fake) Adam sinned before that "covenant" doG didnt have any reason in the universe to made that deal with david - or have it have anything to do with stupid and completely Uncheckable genealogy.
If jesus appeared flying down from the sky on a unicorn with wings - he could have still fulfilled his job of being loyal and true to the great north korean dictator in the sky.
BUT he had to be born cuz it is all a fake story made up in the heads of little people.

Today's W.T on GB not being inspired is having ZERO impact on most J.W's
by Isambard Crater inthe congregation i attend had it's watchtower study on thursday night because of l.d.c work this week-end, and another congregation i have some not very spiritual friends in had their watchtower study on wednesday.
from what i have delicately prised out of people, the congregations loved the watchtower study this week, saying it was so encouraging and all the usual stuff, with no-one seeming to realise the g.b.
said they're not inspired, so the spirit int he past has moved them to teach wrong things, and all the other ideas excellently summed up on reddit.. today's watchtower will wash over the heads of most j.w's like it never even happened, the all remaining as loyal as ever, and it makes me so, so sad..

It is amazing that people dont put 1 and 1 together (its easier than 2 and 2) that if they make mistakes both with the bible and the org - what the heck makes them different than any other religion - and why should you listen to them?
The real way to look at it from a JW R&F would be - ok I like going and I think they are are doing their best - BUT - if they can and have been wrong so many times - why would I let them set policy (that can be and has been wrong) that can KICK me out of the org - and have my family SHUN me? -

No atheist could possible hope to win an election in today's political climate, BUT.....
by James Mixon innot taxing churches is taking as estimated $71 billion from our economy every year.
watching one of the late night talk show and the host mention how much dough we could have to help the poor if the churches were taxed.
i check to see and i b-damn, mormon church spends 7% of its annual income on charity, the average for churches are 29% to help the poor.

As a kid at the book study with the family book - I remember the older elder (german) conducting talking about how even anything but missionary was unnatural and wrong.
But its not a cult.

Would human settlement of Mars invalidate Bible prophecy?
by truthseeker ini don't think this topic has been discussed before but yesterday i read something to the effect that trump wants a human mission to mars to be completed within his presidency.. with that being said, the watchtower teaches that what started on earth ends on earth, in other words, the fall of adam and eve would end with the passing of the 1,000 year millennial reign when christ destroys all his enemies, rebellious "perfect" humans, and the devil and his demons who are let out the abyss for a short while.
he then hands the kingdom back to his father.
an elder in my old congregation once told us during a public talk that he was an ardent astronomer but then referenced the scripture where it says, "the earth he has given to the sons of men" (psalms 115:16).

Well prior to that - I pretty much think History and Common Sense invalidated it first:)

We are becoming champions of grief. We lost twin B.
by Darkknight757 inlast week we had a reassurance ultrasound with our ob.
she was just supposed to check heartbeats on the two little ones and they were going strong!
but because she had extra time and she can be quite anal about her work (which is a good thing) she decided to take some measurements.

I am very sorry - having experienced 2 miscarriages and a possible very bad diagnosis on another (turned out to be ok), I have so much sympathy for you and your wife.
All I can say is that although it always stays with you - it does get better in time.
