  so, my son bought me a device that allows me to look up and watch anything i want.

  i remember years ago , i enjoyed the television show hee haw on sunday evenings.

  i naively thought it was wholesome family entertainment.

  During the rest of the show, much of what you saw was women's breasts exposed, women laying in suggestive positions, dirty jokes, women wearing miniskirts, women being sensual, women and men flirting with each other, men looking at women.

  EVERY SHOW SHOULD INCLUDE SUCH!!!

  Except for men looking at women - now that crosses the line.

  Gentry go use your DEVICE to watch JW broadcasting and leave us the F alone.

  FYI - it's probably a Fire Stick with illegal software that lets you pirate any show or movie.

  November Is The Cruelest Month

  i have been going through old papers and photographs since my mother passed away.

  it has reminded me of some of the reasons that i really hate november.

  this year has added to it obviously.. thirty-four years ago, my father passed away in early november.

  had a couple of witnesses stop by yesterday to say the usual "we miss you, missed you at the meeting, just checking in on you, etc.

  " i've always liked this guy so we spoke for a few minutes.

  my wife said that they could count their time since i am inactive.

  clarification given: "moving forward any elder, ms, or pioneer who themselves or someone under their roof enrolls in higher education, may no longer qualify for privileges in the congregation.

  their qualifications will have to be reviewed by their boe.".

  Difficulty fading out

  this is my first post on here so i apologize that it is like an essay!.

  my husband and i are currently 'fading out' of the truth.

  we stopped preaching in may 2016 and limited meeting attendance in january 2017 and stopped completely in june 2017. my main reason for this was my whole life i have been doing things to please others, even getting baptized to please my mum.

  Emily, just do all you can to avoid any of them, and if you do have contact be very nice, but give no information out at all.

  Remember, they are part of a cult and will turn you in.

  Freddo is 100% right.

  When you deny everything, you are using the 2 witness rule against them.

  Use any excuse, depression, stress, whatever to get out of any conversation.

  By the way - I was in the exact position you were in, though I was a "prominent elder" (whatever that means:)

  back in the day--mid 60's..it was a case of anything goes except penetrative sexual intercourse---between courting couples.

  the one thing that annoys me most about being a jdub is the control watchtower has over everyone.

  for a start, there is absolutely no liberty in christ.

  there is no freedom to openly express your own thoughts on scripture.

  What annoys me most of all is that I actually like everyone at my hall.

  Let me ask you this though, if it wasn't for the forced closeness of the KH, would you have chosen them as your friends?

  I liked everyone at my hall, but when I learned TTATT, I did not feel a loss at not seeing them.
  It was very obvious the vast majority of the friendships were completely superficial and not real friendships.

  Then I realized, If I had met them in other areas of life, I would not have chosen them as friends.

  Less magaiznes per year

  only 6 very thin magazines per year and then recycling the propaganda within.. how are your local congregations spinning this?.

  i heard a local congo-abongo-i is launching a campaign™ to place as amny magazines as possible in the month (this or next...not sure..sources sketchy).

  which i find a bit strange.

  What I want to know is - years ago - Reading all that literature was the MINIMUM we needed to survive the big A!

  Years ago the Book Study was going to be our last and only link to keep safe during the GT!

  The long meetings and long assemblies, the tons of books and magazines we had to digest was all - the BARE MINIMUM we needed to worship DOG and make it through the BIG A!!!!
  
  So now everyone needs less?
  Did DOG downsize the big A?
