at times, people maysay unfair or critical things about us.

Public Talk invitations ....Next to .Zero Attendees

from my conversion at the end of 1959 to my leaving the j.w`s about early 1993 i remember especially in the first 20 -30 years or so giving out invitations to public talks that were to be given at our local k.h.

every time i went out in the service witnessing from door to door week in week out i would leave these tracts at not at homes or whoever would accept them .. and in my personal experience i cannot recall more than five worldly / non j.w.

people , if that , who came to a public talk as a result of the invitations given at the doors in our witnessing work in the 33 years of my being an active jehovah`s witness .. and none of them ever became a jehovah`s witness .. was it just me ?

Pulling teeth has always been easier.

I think the real LAUGH was handing invites to District Conventions.

Yea I cant get a bible study to come to a meeting in the same town, so Strangers are gonna drive 60 miles to go to a JW assembly.

Just Busy work to keep the R&F occupied.

i went to a funeral yesterday and ran into a jdub.

of course, he approached me and it didn't take more than a minute into the conversation for him to get into the jdub gloom and doom mode.

he said that world conditions have never been as bad as they are now.. i looked straight into his eyes and said, "i think that world conditions were a lot worse during world war two.".

Today sucks with all that "medicine" and "technology" and you know, refrigerators and stuff.

Simon you are right. I remember sisters talking about how great it would be to have to get around on a horse.

Of course, none of them had ever been on a horse.

CO asked for everyone 20 years old & younger for a group photo

there was a co visit in ohio a couple weeks ago.

when he was finishing up his sunday talk he said that he would like if "all the children that are from this congregation, not if you're just visiting, but from this congregation to come on up on the stage right after the meeting because i want to get a picture of you.".

i thought to myself, why?

Yes - that has happened in my congregation in the past - I see nothing nefarious about it.

Other than trying to encourage young ones to stay in the cult :)

Same old, just spend more time in the INNER CIRCLE, spend less time with unbelieving family, or anyone else you may know.

If I recall, peter spent lots of time traveling around the Mediterranean, bet he spend time with others rather then the 20 "Christians" around then:)

i read the above posted article and it made me wonder how many narcicistic people join the borg because it fits well with their personality.

i also wonder if being indoctrinated makes you become narcicistic.

Yes.

If you are THE CHOSEN PEOPLE of god, you can become narcissistic.

If you just made it out of High School, but are constantly told you have the BEST education in the world, you can become narcissistic. (partly a defense mechanism for knowing you are a loser)

If you are in the know and the rest of the world isn't. You can become narcissistic.

This effects most to some degree.

Kingdom Hall shot up in Washington state

a kingdom hall near a small community called yelm was shot up.

yelm is where two kingdom halls where set on fire about a month ago.

i think someone, exjw, in that area is really pissed off..
