Joseph Rutherford = Donald Trump
by Wild_Thing ini have been rereading a lot about rutherford lately; about his personality and the kind of person he was.
i have come to the conclusion that he was a lot like donald trump.. he was an accused womanizer.. he was a narcissist with a self inflated ego.
he claimed to be persecuted by the media all the time.

I have a theory on this kind of stupidity. Because Witnesses are closed off from associating with “worldly people”, they do not know how to conduct themselves or what is socially acceptable. They are painfully ignorant about many things, in addition to being fools and ingrates.
VERY VERY TRUE!
Now that does not go for everyone - but a majority sure fit into that. -

Miss America and Misguided Views on Sexuality
by Simon inso miss america pageant is going to remove the swimsuit and evening gown parts of their pageant because they have decided it's demeaning to women.
i guess it will just be women in overcoats telling us they want world peace .... bravo, we all applaud, right?
maybe we shouldn't be so quick to do so .... what is it really saying?

We men like to look at a pretty woman. It's built into our psyche. And stays with us until old age. Isn't it great!
Amen, brother!!!!! Especial pretty naked women.
Nice beach photo by the way.

Sadly, after I had stepped down as an elder (for family and stress reasons - which I made public enough) - me and my family stopped getting any of the invitations we normally got, and worse, the young ones did not answer my daughters invites to "gatherings" we had at our house on a regular basis.
Very hurtful, especially considering how many peoples lives I had helped as an elder. How many times I was there for them in bad times and good. 2 Decades of service as a thoughtful, loving shepherd proved to count for nothing.
Love love love, all over the place.
What a joke.

Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Baker Who Refused to Bake Cake for Gay Couple
by Simon inseems like such an obviously correct decision to overturn the previous overreach - it should never have been necessary to go to the supreme court but happened because the rights of the religious were being ignored.. as the fundamental level, no one should be able to compel you to work for them or to provide services that go against your beliefs, and certainly not have the government be able to force you to comply.. if this was allowed there would be so many unreconcilable situations that would clog up courts over nonsense.. i also have little patience for these activists that intentionally look to be offended.
it really doesn't do their cause any good to go round looking to make trouble for people.
it's also misguided because it ends up strengthening religious rights over effectively stupid issues.. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/04/us/politics/supreme-court-sides-with-baker-who-turned-away-gay-couple.html.

Discrimination is discrimination.
Anyone who can't see this and the slippery slope that it leads to is either being ingenuous or has never opened a history book.
How the f@uk is selling something to someone have anything to do with what their FAKE god feels about them?
This is just Text Book Discrimination Masquerading as Religious Freedom.
Same people who scream that somehow THEIR marriage is threatened if the gay couple down the street is allowed to marry.
RELIGION is by nature DESTRUCTIVE and EVIL.

America is slipping into a scary place.
Freedom seems to mean - everyone should believe what I believe - to a large group of racist xenophobic people.
I left the WT to be free of that thinking.
