  UN Library again... The "NGO Resource Center"

  as we know, there were at least 2 ways to enter the un ngo bldg : 'ground pass' and 'library pass'.

  and the 'ground pass' matters was dealt by many posts in old times.

  basically, the policy of 'library pass' had not been chaged before 9.11 as we read.. however, some pro-jws have been insisting that it was not the un ngo bldg.

  Possibly they could have sent someone to the Library of Congress instead, since it hold ALL published works.

  By the way - what was SOOOO important they could only find it there?

  Are Witnesses really "Bible Students"?

  we were always told that as witnesses we were "sincere bible students".... carefully examining the scriptures.. yes, we were indeed taught much about the content of the bible, it's history, prophecies etc..... but it was always from one perspective....that of the society.

  when the society changed its interpretations, we had to do the same..... so were we really "bible students", or "society students"?.

  Yes they are because none can ever graduate!
  Students are the best you could call them. Go over the same crap every week, and almost none of them could stand up against any one who really knows the bible.

  a spouse that is fully brain doogled in and you are awake to ttatt.. without going into serious detail and no names are given.

  i would like to possible talk with one of you all, it's just so helpful to communicate with someone in the same situation as me.. i am located in the southwest united states..

  The Elders of the congregations make for the worst possible "shepards".

  the main goal of a shepard, is to keep the flock as safe as possible.

  the loss of just a single sheep, could be devastating to a flock, and a shepards financial well being.

  every sheep is valuable, from a monetary stanpoint, and future strength of the flock.

  Having been one - they are COMPLETELY UNTRAINED AND UNQUALIFIED to be involved in any way in people's lives.

  They 80% of the time don't even know the current policies.

  They almost all the time NEVER understand motivating factors in people's lives

  And they almost NEVER do any real (non WT) reserach when it comes to dealing with difficult issues like Depression, BiPolar...

  They are worse than useless - they are often HARMFUL!

  freddo - may it really show how DISHONEST the organization is.

  They lie, distort facts and misquote people in their literature, so why would that not carry over to assemblies and talks.

  So I have given many district assembly talks, and have experience in this area. It is one of the things that really upset me.

  In consecutive years I had talks that needed real life experiences . Both times I knew exactly who would be perfect for the parts. They and their experiences perfectly fit the theme and the intent of the part (in my opinion).

  I was shocked both times when the C.O. made them actually change their "true life experience"! He didn't like the details and thought it would be better if he modified what really happened.

  The first time this happened it was with a sister who just meekly went along with it.

  The second time it was a friend of mine, and though he did it (completely lifeless presentation - who can blame him) he was confused, hurt, and angry about it. I believe it has put big doubts in his mind since then.

  These are not the only occasions I have witnessed. Having been giving assembly parts for years, I saw in rehearsals this happen to other people, or having "important" sections cut out (always so it looked like dogs hand was in the matter).

  I was VERY VERY DISGUSTED! I was happy most of my parts were longer talks where I had control.

  instead of scraping this talk they updated it.. so they still try and make this look like it happened, and that there is plenty of evidence.to do that they refer to the (w08 6/1 8) found at http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2008411the main evidence is that floods have happened in the past, including.... geologists studying the landscape of the northwestern united states believe that as many as 100 ancient catastrophic floods once washed over the area.

  one such flood is said to have roared through the region with a wall of water 2,000 feet [600 m] high, traveling at 65 miles an hour [105 km/hr]—a flood of 500 cubic miles [2,000 cu km] of water, weighing more than two trillion tons.

  similar findings have led other scientists to believe that a global flood is a distinct possibility.. i could not find such an event, except for remembering one of those "disaster" shows on discover about that.
