by pale.emperor inlately i've been thinking over how far i've come over the last 2.5 years since leaving the cult.
when i first left i remember not knowing who i really was and what my beliefs and values were.
previously my values and beliefs were dictated to me the the governing body in watchtower magazines.. i'm politically active, being a member of a political party and i'm even considering running in my local election in a few years.. when it comes to religion, im an atheist who has little time for superstition and "god did it" answers to complex questions.

A seed can feel it is finished as it has been buried—it doesn’t know it has only been planted to continue living!
Venus - I am happy you have the solace of your faith - but - I can prove to you that seeds exist.
I can experiment with what happens to seeds when put in the ground.
I can follow them from seed to sprout every second of the way.
I can examine the DNA of the seed and even make changes to it if I want.
A seed does not have a brain so it cant know or feel anything.
There is NOT mystery on how a seed works.
I don't need FAITH when I plant my flowers.Even if God is willing to provide proof, are we able to see Him, hear Him, feel Him … Our physical eyes are able to see only those objects that lie within the visible range.... It means there are several objects that our eyes cannot perceive
So god is SOOOO powerful - he cants make himself know in an indisputable way?
By the way - our minds have made tools so we can detect and see and manipulate all those things that our eyes cant see.

When fusion no longer makes enough pressure to counteract gravity, the star rapidly collapses to form a black hole. The energy may be released during the collapse along the axis of rotation to form a gamma-ray burst that is amazingly powerful. (dont know what your point is on that)
By the way, the bible didn't help us figure that our. The human mind using the scientific method over decades of years did. Einstien gave us the math that lets us understand what is going on, and observation and experimentation confirm it. NO FAITH REQUIRED.

You know what - if god wanted, he could do 1 miracle right now and end the whole matter, but that won't happen.
What keeps god for just having a booming voice out of the sky talk to EVERYONE all over the world and say - dudes I am god, this is what I want? Does he only want people to believe in him without proof?

Also I asked before Perry - The bible says god lives in a specific place - HEAVEN. DId HEAVEN exist before god, is it co-eternal with god, did god make heaven himself, if so when did he make it? How long was he around before he made heaven? If he was COMPLETE in himself, why did he need heaven? If he was complete why did he make jesus - if he made jesus to share something with him - how long was he around before jesus, and what changed that made him start wanting to create things - was he bored?
Also on TIME. IF you believe in god - time was in existence before the Universe. It was not a creation at the time of the Universe birthday.
Why? Track events. Were angels created before the Universe - the bible says yes - was jesus created before angels - the bible says yes - was god around before jesus - the bible says yes.These are all events in TIME.

Perry I am not trying to belittle your beliefs, I wish I had faith in life after death.
If the evidence of Jesus Resurrection is far from Hearsay (for me it is the definition of hearsay) why do only 1 out of 7 people Christian? and why our of those 1 of 7 - are only a fraction true believers and not just nominal?
Why is gods story and the promise of life everlasting so unbelievably unconvincing that the whole world doesn't about it out of hand, and with the people who do - you could not get 2 to agree on exactly what they believe.
I believe that Julius Ceaser lived and was the Emperor of Rome - not because of Shakespear, but because there is INCONTROVERTIBLE and ABUNDANT proof of his existence. There is NO proof of Jesus - if there was we would not have this thread.

Perry, yes it is reasonable. Belief in god is not for me personaly.
I really wish I could, because it would make getting old and the thought of death much easier.The whole no beginning or a beginning is all freaky and hard to fathom either way.
Hey there are 2 GREAT books I am reading over and over and over about TIME.
I think you would like them. You can be an atheist or believer and equally enjoy them as well.
