If its ok for a Business to not do work for a Lesbian or Homosexual couple - then I am fine with kicking out a Trumpeter. Conservatives cant have it both ways.

Noah`s day Flood ? ( again) Waters Covering Active Volcanoes ?
by smiddy3 ini know their have been many posts dedicated to this subject already and i apologize if this aspect has been handled before.. apart from the many other absurdities relating to the flood of noah`s day being literal as jehovah`s witnesses believe and already thrashed out here by the many posts previous.. i was wondering if this aspect has been considered that the waters would have had to cover over active volcanoes with what result ?.
their are a number of" active and resting" volcanoes at any one time around the earth and i`m just wondering if anyone more knowledgeable than me about the subject would like to weigh in and give their 2 cents worth in what effect a global flood covering volcanoes would have ?.
i am aware their are fissures in the deep oceans where volcanic activity occurs ,but is this the same ?.

Are You Proud of Your Country?
by snugglebunny insome people are of the opinion that it doesn't make any sense to be proud of one's nationality because we had nothing to do with where we were born.
the decision wasn't ours.
they opine that it's ludicrous to be proud of our countries' prior achievements if we had no part in those achievements because we weren't even around then.

I am happy to live here, but I don't feel proud.
The list of atrocities committed are often whitewashed or completely erased.
Even things like being responsible for the global recession that happened and went without penalty to those who cause them is not something to be proud of.
But there are not that many countries I would rather live in.

Another enlightening reason why I don't go to meetings
by joe134cd ini was informed by my jw father tonight that the reason i don't go to meetings is because "of a guilty conscious".
i just done an eye roll and walked away.
i just can't make this stuff up..

I love when Elders or the WT state that - "god will not let anyone totter", or that "god will not let anyone be tempted beyond what they can stand."
If that were true, people would not leave the Org, or stop going to meetings, or get DF'ed...
So you would not ever need to have a "guilty conscience, or your hormones get the best of you, and you would never get "spiritually weak."

Withdrawing community support in the congs
by purrpurr ini've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.
counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.
if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

purrpurr - you are a 100% right!
There are a number of reasons for this.
1. The org has taken a drastic turn from Love to Judgment of its followers.
I remember elders meetings where C.O.s would always remind elders that publishers are all trying to do the right thing, and have good motives, and should be given the benefit of the doubt and support.
No More. Its all WARNINGS and DO THIS OR ELSE mentality. No love.
2. Quality of instruction for Elders has dropped dramatically.
Even if you look at the parts on meetings that would require an elder to think and to work at writing and speaking, they have been cut to just a handful a year. So even the opportunity to become well rounded, understanding, and a student of jesus love is almost all gone.
3. Quality of Elders has dropped.
Today so many elders have little or no education for starters. Peoples problems are complex and not fixable with a scripture. These men cant handle it.
Also - and this is a big one - 99% of Elders DONT want to help people. Think about it, its hard to even listen to peoples big problems, let alone be someone who not only will really listen but can offer real help, past just a scripture. Elders don't want to spend the time and effort to help a publisher or family through a troubled time. THESE ARE JOBS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE THERAPISTS AND COUNSELORS. They are not for Janitors and wannabe "spiritual leaders" like most of the elders today.4. Then you have the OVERALL FEAR and distrust that the WT breeds among all in the congregation. Everyone is trained to be Judgmental of each other, and with elders, that is amped up to a great degree.
One reason its not is the fiction that Elders are just to busy. OMG the workload of an elder who is reasonably intelligent is VERY low. Preparing for meetings and parts is not a big deal anymore. Its 1/2 videos, and 1/2 Q&A. JWs are not a teaching org anymore, they are more like Madrassas.
I could go on but this is it in a nutshell.

To sum up.
The bible is fiction, and JWs are part of a cult.
There is no evidence of a water canopy and if you had a water lens above the earth it would probably super heat the earth and burn it up.
SO many issues with the flood - but just remember this - all the WATER in the atmosphere would increase atmospheric pressure.
So say there was 100 feet worth of water that (ha ha ha) rained down.
It would be like you were living 100 feet under the sea instead of 15 psi we have now on us - it would be 58psi.If it was 1000 feet of rainwater - any living things (fictional Noah included) would have been living with a 450psi atmosphere crushing im to slime.

My mom got baptized under great pressure because the Big A was coming in 1975.
I remember being a little kid next to her and a Pioneer sisters explaining to her that is she was not baptized, here kids would die at Armageddon too.That started our family to wreck and ruin as part of the Cult.
