The door to door work will fade into oblivion with the 'check-the-box' change in reporting. A few diehards who might actually enjoy it may keep it up, but 90% of the people will find another way to check their box.

Door to Door Witnessing Anxiety
by NotFormer init's not only the jws who do door to door witnessing.
the independent baptists for the most part have "soul winning", mainly door to door witnessing and leaving tracts, as a tennet of their faith.
this discussion is interesting:.

by Drearyweather inrecent news on the jw website:.

on october 27, 2023, site plan approval was granted for new construction at the bethel facilities in the town of fishkill, new york, u.s.a. this approval from the town planning board means that work on the new fishkill support center of jehovah’s witnesses can begin immediately.

Most of the NY properties are pretty close together, they even have regular shuttle vans going between the different places. It could be they are simply going to build a residence area for the temporary workers they bring in for construction. I know Tuxedo was built/renovated just for that purpose.

Kingdom Hall Alarm codes.
by JEMIMAH injust back from renovating my holiday home in the south west of france.
beats yorkshire anyday.... anyway thought i would share this little account with you.. as most are of you are aware, the alarm code for about 90% of kingdom halls is 1914 (nineteen fourteen).. i t seems though that for the last 8 or 9 quick builds or refurbs in the uk, the brother who installed the numbers into the alarm control panel used the numbers 1975 and explained the number as one nine seven five not the the easier version (ninteen seventy five).. trivial joke or honest mistake, either way this poor brother has been rumbled and has to to meet with 2 elders investigating on behalf of a body of elders to see whether an apostasy charge will be brought.. he is supposed to be meeting with them over the next few days.. .
a very sad jem, who is sick of the whole elder abuse game.

Funny, I didn't know this. My aged father got an alarm system in about 2010 or so and his unlock code was '1914'. I didn't think much about it at the time, but it was probably the same as the KH alarm.

How my awakening began.
by MissDaSilva inabout a month ago i started having a clear out of old clothes, books and bric a brac etc….. i don’t know what came over me but i decided to chuck out all my old jw literature because we literally have no more room.
it started with magazines, then books, ministry literature and once i started, couldn’t stop.

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

In the absence of actual verified reports, it is easy to assume the worst. I have thought all along that the reason might be a more mundane reason. He might have health issues that require expensive treatment, and he is one of a very few full time servants who has VA benefits, which could even include long term care.

NF: exactly, Rutherford wanted to make his religion different from the Bible Students and many of his changes were just that. Reject Christmas, Holidays, the cross and crown, beards, all of it.

Anti-gravity in the new world!
by BoogerMan infrom golden age, march 24, 1926. https://jws-library.one/?file=data/1926/g_e_19260324/g_e_19260324.html#bookmark22.
"many have wondered how accidents would be avoided during christ’s kingdom, since we are told that nothing shall then hurt or destroy.
most accidents are due to gravitation and its effects.

if two autos with occupants each suddenly reduced their weight to only a few ounces above atmospheric pressure when approaching each other, they would bound apart like toy balloons and no one would be hurt.
This is such a hilarious statement! There isn't even any pseudoscience they could have been thinking of that would make this sound possible. Wow
I think Clayton Woodworth was the editor of the Golden Age during this time. One weird dude.

If 1914 gets tossed
by Leathercrop init feels like the change in reporting of hours becomes a fundamentally bigger deal every day.
the weight and importance placed on quantity was enormous, and now it's just gone.
even tho most witnesses really didn't keep "accurate" records so to speak hehehe.... this could very well be a precursor to even bigger doctrinal changes, like 1914. damn, would would happen then?.

I think the SDA church still believes in their 1844 doctrine (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
I expect the WT will find a way to explain away the 1914 doctrine and hang onto some vestige of it, while stripping away any prophetic significance.
