Our moon is much larger in terms of moon mass/earth mass, than in the vast majority of planets with moons. This allows a total eclipse, unlike other planets with moons.
The theory is that the earth was struck by a large comet or asteroid which spun off the moon’s material. This formation of a moon is rare.

But I've never gotten why say circuits can't have their own choirs (and orchestra's) - especially for conventions and weddings etc
I remember the time when they did exactly that. There was an orchestra who played for all the songs to be sung at the convention. Probably in the '70s. The question is why they did away with it.

It does sound to me more like they are preparing the Brotherhood for some more "new light".
It's about time they lighten up on JWs attending family events at holiday time, as well as allowing kids to participate in Christmas/holiday events at school.

Around these parts they often say 'the Branch', meaning direction from the WT/Society/CO/whatever
as your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.
Here’s an idea. Fill your go bag with old stale crackers and cheap wine, then pull it out next year for the Memorial! Presto, two problems solved!

I believed at the time, and still think is likely, that the WT had printed way too many of the Revelation book, were embarrassed to have them offered to the public, and only had the JWs study it so they would use up the inventory. Excess inventory management, that’s all
probably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.
in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?
" by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.
It may seem insurmountable now, but I think that the WT can surely dump 607 BCE whenever they want. For practical purposes 1914 is already gone. The 1919 date, linked to the 1914 chronology can be changed. It's a joke. The typical JW doesn't believe in the 1914 chronology anyway, I would wager. In fact changing 1919 to 1939 would just about coincide with Rutherford's death/last few years. They already kicked ole Chucky to the curb, why not Rutherford too?
i’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.
so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.
maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.
They have a Cash Flow Problem, only by retaining as many R&F JW's in the rich Countries can they begin to solve the problem of $$$ in some measure.
Phiz, this is exactly what is going on. Passive or semi-passive supporters who have money to donate; this is the segment of the JW population they are trying to retain.
