I heard that it is only the English translation of the NWT which is unavailable, and the non-English languages are still available. If all JWs would clean out their attics and closets and bring in all those Green Bibles, there wouldn't be any shortage at all. Maybe we should start a JW ministry to collect old NWTs, redistribute to people who do not have one.

Another non-JW reacts to Sparlock video
by cedars inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-ssv2nh0rc.
and two weeks ago i highlighted another video where sparlock helped an ex-mormon.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmesmlhydru.
though it still depresses me to think of all the young ones (including my own relatives) falling under the influence of this dangerous piece of propaganda, it's at least some small comfort that the sparlock video is backfiring so dramatically among thinking non-jws.. .

I am glad that the WT society has started putting out videos like the Caleb/Caleb's mom series. They really show the world how stupid they are. The great part is that putting it on the internet is permanent. There will always be copies out there, for all to see whenever they want. The society is really making themselves look stupid. I am cheering!

The lonely skull of a wandering European, found at Taree, NSW
by fulltimestudent inthis is believed to be the skull of a white (european) person, who should not have been where the skull was found.
that's because, australians generally want to believe that the first europeans to live in australia came after captain cook.
that view, is likely to be a bit of jingoistic rubbish, but it serves the cause of white nationalism.

thanks for posting this, as I for one find it interesting whenever we find out something they taught us in history books was wrong. However, it is not surprising to me that there would have been individual Europeans in Australia in the 1650's. After all there were European vessels through the Spice Islands all thru the 1500's and possibly the Arab traders were around there before that. Any shipwreck/ runaway sailor/ or even fathering a child could have resulted in the person described.

Old out-of-touch JWs using antiquated terms
by sir82 inever notice how completely out of touch some (most?
) public speakers are?.
last week we had a speaker ramble on for fully 1/3, maybe 1/2, of his 30 minute talk on the evils of "rap music".. i don't believe the term "rap music" has been uttered by anyone under the age of 40 for at least 20-25 years.. this week we got another "older gentleman" warning us about the pervasive dangers of "internet chat rooms".. again - didn't "chat rooms" die out about the same time as dialing up to connect to aol?.

Along these lines, the NWT is spoken of as being a 'modern day language' Bible, but the fact is that the language is out-dated. It is English usage written in the 1950's, and was old-fashioned then, as it was translated by old men at that time who grew up in the 1890-1930 time period. Until the NWT is updated, we will continue -keep on- hearing words like fornication and manifestation, etc. At least in English, but I don't know how the other language NWTs read.

DID YOU KNOW the latest Brooklyn sell-offs will take total Watchtower earnings to $804 MILLION since 2004?
by cedars inhi folks.
i apologize if this is old news to some, but it's news to me.. i stumbled on a comprehensive list of all the sold properties on wikipedia on this link... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/watch_tower_bible_and_tract_society_of_pennsylvania#brooklyn_property_sales.
it's just a mind-boggling amount of money, and useful information to have handy when talking to witness relatives.

Yikes Splash you might be onto something! I can see it now... they'll think it untheocratic to use anything but the 'approved' thablet! They'll find a way to charge a fee for the service while avoiding sales taxes. I'm sure they will have scriptural justification. Moses had ten commandments on two tablets didn't he? that means 5 on each tablet... that means 5 meetings on 1 tablet. Voila! The scriptures speak for themselves!

Remember what happened in 2005?
by Terry inwould any of us defend the right of a medicine manufacturer to advertise curative powers without side effects when evidence to the contrary was indicated?.
would any of us defend the right of a pharmacist to make up his own prescriptions and pass it off as what our physician specifically gave to us?.
would any of us approve equal time for tv advertisers to promote products as effective which had repeatedly proved to be dangerous?.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember that there was a time (1970's or before) which the WT society did not copyright the Watchtower or other books? When did they begin to copyright? I remember being told that they thought that since they had the truth they didn't mind having it distributed for them, but then in the '70's, with opposers using information against them they decided to start copyrighting the Watchtower. Am I completely wrong, or does anyone else remember this?
