navy and pentagon confirm sightings.
us military is worried because the technology being used to drive these air vehicles are showing no signs of any sort of jet fuel.

in a recent turn of events, i found myself at a jw social gathering on zoom (supporting my pimi wife, while among mostly jws whom i don't know and a handful of old friends who don't know i'm inactive) that just so happened to also be joined by garrett losche and his wife.
sorry to disappoint but i had absolutely no interaction with him and have nothing interesting to report about it.
i'm just sharing this because i can't believe i even got that close to maybe chatting with him, despite being a closeted apostate.. there were about 300 people in the zoom meeting, all having been directly invited.
i overheard mrs eyeslice listening to '2021 governing body update 3' yesterday.
apparently, they have started ditching foreign language groups and congregations as these weren't exactly roping anyone in.
of course there is a positive spin on all this - '4,000 plus elders freed up to serve in local language congregations' and of course there has been immensely positive feedback from various branches about the benefits of this.. i suspect though there will be an awful lot of elders who were serving as king pins in these congregations who are going to have their noses put out by going back to local language congregations where they will barely be used.
At least part of it is probably just to free up time in the now-overbooked Kingdom Halls, some of which are hosting 4-5 fullsize congregations. There are only so many time slots to have scheduled meetings.
concerning recent threads about providing building repairs or other services for a church, i am wondering about how the wt stand would hold up under legal scrutiny.. example; a jw is self employed in the hvac business.
a church calls him to provide routine service for their heating and cooling system.
suppose it is in area which is predominately of a certain race or ethnicity.
While we usually associate the Civil Rights Act of 1964
with racial discrimination, it clearly encompasses religious discrimination.
"The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex
or national origin. "
Quote taken from:
Based on this, I don't see how it is legal for a business owner to refuse service to a person (or an organization)
based on that person's (or organization's) religious beliefs.

Concerning recent threads about providing building repairs or other services for a church, I am wondering about how the WT stand would hold up under legal scrutiny.
Example; a JW is self employed in the HVAC business. A church calls him to provide routine service for their heating and cooling system. Suppose it is in area which is predominately of a certain race or ethnicity. He is a good JW and refuses to serve them, and when asked for a reason he tells them that he doesn't give service to churches besides his own.
He is sued for religious or racial discrimination, or both.
Under US law (the Civil Rights Act of 1964, for instance) I tend to think the WT stand may be interpreted as illegal and could be challenged in court if it hasn't already.
I'll leave it at that, maybe someone with a legal background will comment.

Here is a similar thread on this site from about 5 years ago when the Indianapolis Indiana assembly hall was sold to a church.
we all know stephen lett's infamous quote that we're living in "the final part of the final part of the last days!
shortly before the last day of the last days.".
well, there is an interesting interview with larry graham and his family that has a variant on this, where he says that we're living in "the last of the last of the last days".
I see on Wiki that he released a solo album in 2019.
I think he is still an active JW.

Love the purple exterior!
if you go to a restaurant, do you tip and typically how much?
if you were given a 90 minute time frame to eat at a restaurant, would that restriction limit your tipping to the waitress or waiter?.
also if you order a coffee and donut and pick it up, do you contribute to the “tip jar” that’s on the counter?
Yes, absolutely. In the US it is expected and usual.

A little curious about the Stirling video posted. I wonder if it is intended to portray some story from the Book of Mormon. I've watched a few videos recently in which the Mormon beliefs about the population of the Americas. Historically it is ridiculous; it is astounding the lengths they go to to find 'evidence' to support their previously-arrived-at conclusions.
