china's economy is wobbling as one of its largest companies, evergrande, is teetering on bankruptcy.. there's a good chance it's collapse will have a knock-on effect on other markets.. so more to thank them for than just the covid virus.. no one should have any dealing with china..

now, many years later, i remember the 1995 generation change, very well.. since early youth, hearing my father explaining in field service the 2520 years.
it was his main theme in the field.. with the change my doubts started.
with some jw friends we did not trust the organization anymore.
I knew some old timers (1940’s) witnesses who dropped out after the ‘95 change. It was a real slap in the face for them, as they were old by then and had been hanging on with the generation belief.
i thought i had seen everything, but i picked up a bible at goodwill yesterday that has the tetragrammaton in hebrew in the ot.
.
it has the tetragrammaton in the nt too.. published in south africa apparently, 1998.. .
I don’t know who or what organization the publishers are associated with, but looking through their intro and appendix I would call them a Sacred Name movement. The also seem to be Sabbath keepers (Saturday, not Sunday). Also in the inerrancy of Scripture.
The intro states that for the NT they started with the Textus Receptus and made their adjustments based on their beliefs. In particular they believe that the original was inspired in a Semitic Language, not in Greek which to them is profane. This assumption gives them the basis to make numerous textual changes, including the restoration of YHWH in the NT.
Institute for Scripture Research has a website, though I don’t find it very informative.

Sorry for the multiposts, I am working off a strange wifi and having difficulty with posting.
The Bible in question is ‘The Scriptures’, published in 1998 by Institute For Scripture Research in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The photo in the previous post is John 1, the YHWH tetragrammaton can be seen in v23. They have also placed the Hebrew letters for Yehoshua (Jesus) as in v. 17. There are numerous other oddities, but the Hebrew letters are really strange looking.

i thought jiles grey response to this question was interesting:.
"i think that it demonstrates just how ineffective the jehovah’s witnesses’ door to door evangelising is.. in 2019 there were 303,866 people baptised.
this was during a year when the preaching work was in full swing.. in 2020 there were 241,994 people baptised.
The baptisms I have seen on zoom are kind of pitiful. Usually just one at a time in a pool in someone's back yard. One was in a large bathtub. No clapping or congratulations like the JWs are accustomed to.
