The latest copy of BAR (Biblical Archaeology Review) came in the mail last week and an article about Egyptian roads got me thinking about the Red Sea tale. One of their major roads from the Nile Delta to the Levant was on a sort of peninsula that was reclaimed from the Mediterranean as the sea level went down. Makes me wonder if the Red Sea story is a memory of them travelling along such a road and escaping because of a rise in sea level due to tide, weather, or some other reason.

Red Sea Stories Divided.
by peacefulpete inmost of what follows may be new to some but well established by scholarship for well over a hundred years.
anyone reading the genesis stories of creation and the flood are struck by the way two versions of the story have been literally stitched together.
the documentary hypothesis formalized this recognition by assigning names to the sources in genesis and exodus as, j,e,p and a redactor r. while there have been suggested refinements this basic model has stood.

why are we interested in what is going on in the JW
by enoughisenough infor the most of us, we have left the jws...and even though we are no longer jw, many of us are still interested in their beliefs, doctrines and practices as currently practiced.
i was trying to sort out in my mind why i still care about what they are doing.
i think the answer to that is a hope that something will develop in the jws that will wake up a lot of others, and selfishly, a lot of my friends.

It's curious it says Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society Toronto Canada. I wonder if it was only in Canada.
I've personally never seen this publication or heard of it.

I think it very plausible that he is facing health issues, possibly something terminal. Not at all unusual for a person of his age.

There have been times when criminals have masqueraded as JWs to scope out a neighborhood. This JW could have been mistaken to have such an intent.

Just looking at the JW.org app, it looks like they had 3 public edition WTs in 2021, then down to just one in 2022. The didn’t have a publication date, just No.1, 2, etc. It seems likely 2023 will have one later in the year.

How Will They End 1914 Teaching?
by EmptyInside ini'm sure this has been discussed, but 1914 has to go away.
instead of, the overlapping generation teaching, they should have just ditched 1914. .
they should have done that a long time ago with 1975. it's the last of the teachings in the charles taze russell era.. i'm thinking they just will stop talking about it, and it will be out of the mind of the rank and file loyal witnesses .

My observation is that none of the JWs I know really believe in the 1914 date beliefs. None of them could duplicate the reasoning/arithmetic or explain it at all. They don’t seem to care much about it.

ROJW - Religious Order of Jehovah's Witnesses
by OrphanCrow ini was going through some research i had done a few years ago and came across something that referenced rojw healthcare support and a note to myself to take a look at rojw when i had the time.
so i did a search for rojw (an acronym for religious order of jehovah's witnesses).. the search turned up some interesting bits of information.. according to dun & bradstreet, rojw was founded in 2011:.
since 2011, rojw has been providing nonclassifiable establishments from wallkill.. for a list of persons who have worked for rojw:.

WTBTS still had to pay for some benefits and fall under regulations like OSHA for their 'volunteers'.
I think this is true. Worker's comp for injuries is a big issue. There are so many construction jobs going on, with non-professionals running about, that even with the best intentions and training, there are multiple injuries.

Are they now tracking our activity on jw.org app?
by raymond frantz inthis disclaimer appeared on my jw.org app after using their add notes function on the watchtower study section are they now tracking the app and what we add to it?
the information i add on their note section is mainly points that i can use on my videos which is really clashed as apostate material.this information is saved on my drive and not on cloud so are they installing a tracker on your system once you press accept so they can use this information against in the future?
have you had a similar experience?.

In countries subject to GDPR (European) every website which uses cookies, etc will have similar disclaimers. I don't read much into it

No doubt this was written in response to the historically low baptisms in the 2022 annual report (data through Sept, 22) which was just made public last week.
