You are only seeing the beginning. If the demand continue to increase while the offer remain the same, the price will continue to go up. But the offer will probably not remain the same, if we reach "peak oil", the production will begin to drop every year. So, we better find something else than petrol quickly to propel those big Hummer and those Ford F150.

Gasoline / Petroleum breaks the £1 / Litre barrier
by LittleToe inyes, it's official!
my last fill-up cost well over 50, at a cost of 101.9p/litre.. even having been accustomed to paying 10% more than in mainland scotland, this is a new all-time high.
it was bad enough when it broke the 1 / gallon mark, but this is outrageous!.

The end of cheap oil = the end of "business as usual"?
by Nicolas inthe subject of peak oil has been talked a couple of time here.
you'll find a lot of infos about it on google but i want to do know your opinion... will the end of cheap oil will mean the end of the world (death) for a large portion of the humanity or we will just adapt to the new reality?
personnaly, i think that we will have to live in a post-technological world if we put no more energy to find something to replace petrol.

Personnaly, I think that we will have to live in a post-technological world if we put no more energy to find something to replace petrol. You can't replace it just with electrical car. If you have an electrical car, you need a source of energy to produce the electricity. Also, there's thousand of objects (plastic) that we use everyday and they are made from petrol.

Millions living now will never die, due to SCIENCE!!!
by Bas insince the rise of biotech, the possibility of eternal life and an easy cure for cancer have been widely discussed and speculated about.. .
now, however, it looks like the cancercells themselves are teaching scientists how to stop the agingprocess and bringing us closer to eternal life.
millions living now will never die!!!.

If we want to live longer, we can already start to do more exercises instead of watching TV and playing computer games.

Could the Spirit world have helped your exit from the religion?
by free2beme inboy, this might be that can of worms i meant to keep closed!.
i was thinking about something though and wondered what your thoughts might be.
if you believe in angels, the spirit realm, spirit guides or spirits of loved ones that have crossed.

Indeed some informations came to light more, when my father died but I can't say that it was caused by the influence of a spirit. I just found out how cruel and hypocrite it was when I saw that two of my sisters who are still in the org had to shun my mother because she dissacioted herself. My father and my mother were inactive since more than 3 years and there was no problem with it until my father died. After this, the elder started to harass my mother. She had only one choice left if she wanted to stop the harassment and it was dissasociation.

Name things that you discovered that you wouldn't do without anymore
by JH innow i only drive automatic transmission cars....because there is so much traffic and too many stop signs.
it becomes annoying.
i used to love driving manual transmissions, but no more.. the internet is one other thing that i wouldn't be able to do without.. how about you?.
-
Nicolas
Personnally, I learned how to use a manual transmission when I got my first car and now I wouldn't do without it anymore. There's too much fun with the feeling that you can completly control the car. Also, I found out quickly how to use the compression when I need to stop. This prevent my brake from wearing out so I change them less often.

question for all
by bonnzo inmost of you are ex-dubs, so what if world events proved that the jw's were right.
for instance, governments turning on religion, matthew 24th chapt events really increasing at an alarming rate, enough to make you think: " maybe they were right?
" if that happened, and the wts left the "door on the ark", so to speak, open for a little while, would you go back to the wts?

I'd rather die than live with an organisation like the Watchtower.

Hard Evidence of Life After Death, is there any?
by Blueblades in.
are you a blind believer or do you have evidence of a continued existence beyond physical death either personal in nature or from scientifically valid sources?.

I tend to agree with Sadie. If there's something like a soul that can survive our death, I haven't seen any proofs of it yet. Houdini who was a famous magician once said that even the death would not be able to stop him. He told a secret code to his wife and he told her he would come back after his death to proove that he's still here by showing the secret code to his wife.

UFOs - secret military projects from planet EARTH?!?!
by zagor injust finished watching this discovery program, that makes convincing case that ufo are nothing but very advanced military projects that have been going on for years.
in fact, it all started in nazi germany, and the company that was commissioned to produce them was none other than skoda , car company from czechoslovakia.
interesting indeed.

I just fail to see why it would be more credible just because it has been aired on Discovery Channel? My philosophy teacher would call it an "appeal to the authority". You can't say that something is true just because someone or an organisation with a high level of authority said it was true.

The Watchtower Says 1 In 4 Persons Likely To Have A Mental Illness!
by minimus inthat's on their website....do you believe this?
-
Nicolas
Personnally, I think that nobody is 100% sane. Everyone has some sort of "mental illness". It's just a matter of drawing the line between what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.
