lately i've been finding it more and more difficult to keep up a front.. .

before i learned the tatt i was the mover and shaker of our family.

i would study with the kids.

I completely know how you feel... that's why I stopped preaching... I went form preaching 1 hour, to not preaching but tuning in fake time, to nothing at all. I too have kids and I think when you take things slow, you have better results. My advise to you and what is working for me so far is...

STOP PREACHING, you will feel sooooo much better and free. Start increasing your absence, small steps.
START GETTING HEADACHES, this is only for preaching and meetings.. not hubby time!
STOP GOING TO MEETINGS, because of all those headaches you are going to start getting! Start increasing your absence.
MAKE WORLDLY FRIENDS! This is CRUCIAL and a MUST for your mental survival and sanity. You'll see how much nicer people are OUTSIDE the congregation.
HELP YOUR KIDS TO MAKE WORLDLY FRIENDS! Maybe school, encourage the friendships they currently have in their classrooms.
HAVE PATIENCE WITH YOUR HUSBAND, men in the organization have to put up a bigger front then us woman, give him time to wake up.

MOST IMPORTANT THINGS

7. GET TO KNOW THIS WONDERFUL WORLD WE LIVE IN, AND EVERYTHING IT HAS TO OFFER. When you step outside the bubble, it's an amazing place.

my oldest teenage daughter (15) is a publisher and goes to all meetings with her father (we divorced, he picks her up).

i try to get her more involved in school and to spend more time with friends outside the congregation.

i'm to the point where i'm going to simply forbid it and send her off to collage early!

What exactly are men at the back of the hall taking care of?

once people have come in, and the doorman and the mic men are in place, why are there a few other suits scattered about at the back?

i saw a guy get up, sit down, get up, sit down, get up and when i looked what he was up to he was reading the noticeboard and looking around, waiting for a bus.

i figured he wasn't doing much at that point, but anything to not stay seated.

I was censored 6 years ago, and out of anger stopped preaching completely. My entire family is JW, and all thou I do not preach and I've been inactive all these years... I do attend some meeting to make my parents happy. The elders have spoken to me and have offered to remove my censorship and welcome me back to full "previous", and I have rejected them, and stated that I am fine and happy the way I am. Since, I keep this front with my family, (sitting on the wall, just waiting to leap)... I don't think my daughters will be taken away from me if I completely stop attending. The father will just continue to take them to meetings and preaching.

My older brother was never baptized, and when he was 18 he was "disfellowhipped".... I was 10 and I remember the day they made the announcement on stage, it was as if a family member had passed away.... it turned my family's life upside down... one year later the GB stated that if a person was never baptized they could never be dis-fellowshipped since they never truly committed to God. Incredible, all the suffering they cause our family, to then later just take their words back.

True Jesus did not get baptized until 30, and she would never get married at 14... so then why make such a huge commitment at such a young age. I was baptized at 16, and I never attended a collage because Armageddon was around the corner... I don't want my kids making the same mistakes I made.

I keep telling her that until she is 18, she is not an adult and can not make a smart decision concerning something so important that is going to control every aspect of her life. But I'm scared she will be convinced to do it. Please give me advise, and send me some "SMART WORDS" that could impact her.

I haven't preached in over 6 years and I'm slowly dimming myself out. I have many conversations with her on some of my points of view on the org. and she listens,... but her father has a convincing tongue and I don't want her to be pushed.

i never found statistics on the amount of paper the wtbts wastes, but i think they're might be a little hypocritical by parading the "he will bring to ruin those ruining the earth" verse that they always quote.

it got me curious and i decided to crunch some numbers.... they print 42 million washtowels a month, more than any other magazine in the world (http://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/wp_e_20110501.pdf).

So why did the organisation cause you anxiety or depression?

in regards to my other post regarding attending counselling as a jw, i was wondering what it was about being a jw that caused you to be anxious, stressed or depressed?.

for me, i knew that the person i wanted to be was constantly being supressed by the wt.

there was a battle going on in my head between who i wanted to be and who they wanted me to be.

The list is sooooooo long... everything said here covers it. They crush every feeling, and emotion in people. They are like the Men in Black with that little brain machine... lol, I don't want to be a JW zombie anymore!! I WANT OUT!!

recently i remembered another example which shows how hateful and unchrist-like the witnesses are brainwashed into being.. a long time ago, when i was a pioneer, i was hanging out with a group of long-time pioneers after the district convention, in the stadium hallway.

some had been pioneering for more than 10 years and therefore were considered to be spiritually mature.

a woman who appeared to be a sister was walking by; she paused and greeted us and said something like, "what a great program that was.

I had a very simular experiance with a long time friend of mine who was disfellowhiped, she was not going to meetings and had a judicial case against two elders for molesting her when she was a child, nothing was being done and she refused to enter a kingdom hall. She was very mad and bitter and with every right.

One day I bumpped in to her in the market, and my joy was so great I just walked up to her and hugged her, said "you are greatly missed, take care of yourself", and walked away... she cryed, and was in shocked that I had done this. One year later, I found out from a friend that she had been sick for several months and had died of cancer (age 34, leaving 2 kids behind).

If I would have turned my back on her that day in the market, today I would not be able to live with myself, I'm happy I was able to give her a last good bye. I was so ANGRY, and SICK of discust at her funeral, all the brothers there talking wonderful, great things about her, when while she was alive nobody cared, helped or aknowledged her. My anger GREW... when that same week she died, they anounced in meeting that "right before passing on her death bed, she had repented and had been reinstated"!!!! A little to late, dont you think ELDERS!!

How could we make more articles like this public to the media? I would love for a nice topic exposing the WT to "ACCIDENTALLY" go into all JW's emails.
