Seems to me that the one obsessed with oral sex would be you. It's not a publisher's responsibility to guide our children. It's a parent's responsibility. If you look at other "Christian" web pages and videos, you will find a consistent obsession with oral sex and its morality. The Watchtower is neither better nor worse than the rest of them.

Holding a grudge
by LongHairGal ini read something recently on reddit (not sure what thread) where a person related how some jw told them that ‘they hold a grudge’.. this reminded me of something an old jw acquaintance said to me some years back when i related my bad experience in the religion.. so, apparently, jehovah’s witnesses feel they should be forgiven for anything.
people should forget all about it and act like nothing happened and be charitable towards them, etc… when i read in james and ephesians i got the sense ‘holding a grudge’ was referring to the things average people do to offend each other.. i don’t see it applying to a religion that claimed to speak for god and who engendered hateful and unchristian attitudes towards people.. i know because i experienced this.. in addition, some people’s lives were damaged by listening to faulty teachings and interference in things that were clearly none of anybody’s business.. one case in point: them knocking worldly careers and now there are thousands of destitute jws in senior years with nothing.. then in 2023 the religion does away with a century old teaching about counting hours in the ministry.
meanwhile, i got judged over this.

You are free to skip our comments. She asked a question. I answered it. You continue the diversion by complaining.

I agree with them on the state of the dead and resurrection. I agree that the Bible teaches a restored paradise earth. The trinity is a false doctrine. Something akin to Witness congregational organization is New Testament practice, though the power they give their elders far exceeds what the Bible suggests.
I was pleased when they abandoned the prophetic drama scheme. I agree that the Bible holds us to a very high moral standard. I agree that associating with the morally compromised is poor judgment. However, I Corinthians says that was a decision made by the majority. In other words, it was a personal decision.
That's about it.

Do JWs believe Jesus is an angel?
by slimboyfat ini would suggest:.
the short answer is yes.. the longer answer is a qualified yes, with some caveats.
the short answer is yes because jehovah’s witnesses teach that jesus is michael the archangel, their leader, eldest and most powerful, and have taught this since the very beginning of the religion.

My instant answer: I haven't a clue.
But I have a thought or two. Witnesses see Jesus as unique among spirit beings. He is in God's exact image. Hebrews chapter one says this. He is above all the angels who are commanded to do him obeisance. He is God's ultimate message bearer. He is, as John one says, the one who explains God to us. So Jesus is in a class above angels. Hence he is the archangel. The chief one. But still in the genus Angel.
Just how close that is to Watchtower teaching, I do not know.
Insight vol. one: "As with the visible creation, so also in the invisible realm there is order and rank among the angels. The foremost angel, both in power and authority, is Michael, the archangel. (Da 10:13, 21; 12:1; Jude 9; Re 12:7; see ARCHANGEL; MICHAEL No. 1.) Because of his preeminence and his being called “the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of [God’s] people,” he is presumed to be the angel that led Israel through the wilderness. (Ex 23:20-23)"

I have a very mixed opinion of Jehovah's Witnesses. Most are welcoming. I attend meetings every few months or so. I'm usually made welcome. I have Witness family. Mom's constant complaint was that their elders are inadequately trained. They are. They 'teach' procedures, but do not subject their elders to a chapter by chapter study of the Bible. Ask them a question they find difficult and most of them will turn you off as if you asked for their firstborn. I agree with their basic doctrine. The Faithful Slave doctrine torchers the scriptures. Elders seem to have a club. some nice things; some irritating, and some just stupid.
