8 years ago, today, my mom passed away as a result of ovarian cancer at the very young age of 48. i was pregnant with her first and only grandchild.
1994 was both a difficult and blessed year for me!

Wow, it's amazing to me that people I don't know respond so kindly. It sounds like you all have a story to tell about your own Mom's.
I've been encouraged by your comments and hugs!
I believe very deeply that I will see my Mom again one day and that she is much happier where she is now!

Her name means "God is Gracious"
so i go into my toolbox a little earlier today.
it's nice and tidy.
tools well arranged, bottom clean.. all very well and good.
How 'bout just telling her the truth but showering it on with kindness "honey, thank you so much for tidying up my tool box, that was so very nice of you and I love you for it, but it just really makes it harder for me to find things when someone else organizes it."
I don't know, usually my hubby is better at expressing himself in these domestic dilemnas than I! This is probably what he would say to me had I trespassed on his turf!

usually i'd be content to go have some fun but not today.
LB, that is too funny! I can remember when I was the one "knocking" and I knew they were home!
Where I live, now, I have seen maybe one JW ever at our door in say 10 years! I have seen Mormons a bit more maybe like 3 times.
I usually let my husband handle them! He loves it!

Whether she was 48 or 98 I think the hurt would be just as awful-I just always dreamt of her being a big part of my daughters life-and she was waiting "patiently" for me to finally have one! Lol!

i relate the following not to toot my own horn, but that of someone who really came through for me.. my wife and i have taken in three of my nieces five kids.
the kids we are now caring for are ages 7 9 and 10. the niece was indigant and i believe she is on drugs.
i know she was prostituting herself.

i was feeling a bit nostalgic this morning in my way to work..and i guess i just feel like venting, so feel free to back out of this thread if you'd like.. i was raised as a jw since i was seven yrs.
i'm the only girl out of four kids.
we were the "ideal" witness family..my dad was an elder, mom stayed home and waited for us to get home from school, all of us kids pioneered and got to go to pioneer school.

One thing about our Daddy's is that they never stop loving us, no matter what mistakes we make! He may have had trouble communicating that to you but know he felt it, take that last bit of time you spent with him and make it what you believe it was-you are the one that lives on. Take it, hold onto it!
