well, he has had a history of telling mistruths, half truths and distortions of facts.

I just had the joy of watching this last night with my still in wife.

MAYBE in a sense they are telling the truth when they say it's all about free choice.

Everything they say can be taken as suggestions. If we choose to OBEY they're suggestions it is free will to an extent.

When we wake up to the fact that they are a crock, we no longer choose to listen to their stupid suggestions.

Of course our actions will have an effect, and that effect may be that we are marked or shunned for not following their "suggestions". Of course everyone who follows the WTs suggestions and shuns us is following their free will and making a choice to do it.

Me I think I am going to use my free will as suggested in the video. I am going to consider bible principles as it said we should.

I see nothing about shunning weak ones, I see nothing about having friends and associating with people who are Christians of a different faith. As a matter of fact I see LOTS of mentions of loving our neighbors and praying for our enemies and Jesus himself ate meals with prostitutes and tax collectors.

If some choose to shun or mark me, I will pray for their forgiveness for they know not what they do and I will get on with my life.

"Heritage" Vintage JW movie from 1966

i can't remember where i first heard about this movie but it was recently.

i guess they even showed it on tv.

probably payed for like an infomercial.. anyway, i looked it up on youtube and viola!.

There was some local grumbling about his having allegedly filmed a Marlboro cigarette commercial (in fairness, I don't know if he actually did), but again, the locals were advised to give him a pass.

Would that be a big deal?

The prohibition on tobacco didn't happen until 1972ish no?

i was at the meeting last night and the dreadful video about caleb and sparlock was forced upon the audience.

honestly, i had forgotten how bad it was.

the mother's manipulative over-reaction and caleb's acceptance that his toy was evil.

However, the witnesses are specifically told not to involve police because "it would bring reproach on gods organization".

My wife and I were foster parents back in the 80s and we ended up with a couple of physically abused witness kids. We saw it first hand.

My wife witnesses sexual abuse of a friend of hers when she was a little girl and NOTHING ever came of it even though she told her parents. The elders were involved but that's as far as she knows. She was only 10 or so.

So, in answer to your question, indoctrination to the point that your brain dies making you brain dead.
